Better screen - big selling point.

Still, lack of microSD is a bit of a fail.

    Depends on your usage.

I've never filled a 4GB card in my phone. So a choice or 16 or 32? waay more than enough.

Re: News - Galaxy Nexus now on sale in the UK

Data retrieval options alone (if the phone dies) makes it worth having a microSD card with backups on - removing a need to resort to sending off the phone at great expense for data recovery.

The added benefit of being able to take a decent collection of music/video with you when you want it really makes the lack of a slot disappointing. It's not like you have to use it if it's there, but you certainly can't use it if it's not there. All the more painful when you consider it would likely cost them less than a pound.

Following on from the last discussion on this - it amazes people can't see that they're use case isn't a fit-all. I quite acknowledge you might want to carry around tons of movies and music etc on your phone but (like the previous poster) I don't. My desire has a paltry 8gb of storage - 2gb of which is used for the OS (instead of internal memory) and apps - the remaining happily carrys stacks of pictures, music and so forth. Plenty for me and yet i've still got 3.50gb free (and 0.94gb free on the OS partition). I suppose listening to me toons qualifies as consume media too (*poof* still not full)

So, to me (not you), 16gb seems like a lot more than I need. And so, i've got a preorder for the Nexus and I'm hoping mine will materialise next week.

A fair point, what I do is backup my current phone using titanium and dropbox (they link) and I occasionally copy everything off to the PC anyway (because if the card does really die you're stuffed). There is no substitute for backups!

Yup, it would of been nice to have no doubt - and yup seems a bit mean - but not a deal breaker (obviously) for me and others.

oh ok, I didn't spot that in the report. Still a hefty price. that's what you get for being an early adopter though in general.

My entire CD collection, that more than fills 2 drawers of my sideboard, takes just over 5GB of storage. Unless music doesn't count as *any* media...?

So yeah, another vote for the storage volume being more than ample from me. But I agree that for data recovery and ease of transfering files a microSD slot would be preferable. Although the whole thing's irrelevant to me since I'm not due for an upgrade for 9 months, can't afford a SIM-free handset, and will probably stick with my O2X for another year or two once my current contract's up anyway
