I'm sure many people are looking for BF3 performance enhancements for single card setups, like me!
Anyone have any news or thoughts on this?

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
The application profiles for Crossfire are still at 11.9 CAP4 (at least they were an hour ago when i looked). They claimed to have some improvements for BF3 in but they actually made the performance i was getting alot worse and the card loads massively unbalanced on my 2x 5870's so had to go back to 11.9 CAP1 which i had on before. Can't comment on CAP2 and 3 as didnt bother with them.
Yeah but you always hope for random free performance enhancements from new drivers. And my 5870 sucks in mutiplayer for FPS so I need something!

... 5870 and 2 core pentium ... ?? :> ??
LOL, check my system specs, no pentiums here :]
I'm beginning to think my windows install is b0rked, I will try a fresh install on a spare SSD and see if I can get the performance everyone else seems to be getting. Nice chance to try these drivers out too - I have heard of problems when installing AMD drivers on top of older drivers which is what I have been doing (even with some betas)

The new Cap 11.1 has made a huge difference here. The CF setup is running a LOT cooler and quieter.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.

I'm running a Quad core extreme 9650 OC'd to 3.8Ghz and an HD5850. That is running BF3 at High setting no problem. I can run at Ultra, but the framerate is just low enough to be annoying, but only just.
I have OC'd the 5850 by a fair margin, including upping the voltage, and that has brought an improvement too.
So, if you're 5870 is struggling on BF3, I'd say either there is something wrong with it, or the problem isn't with your 5870.
I took the time to reinstall Windows 7 64bit to a 'spare' SSD yesterday, loaded up drivers and BF3 and had a play. Much more reasonable frame rates, 50 - 80 fps or so, so perfectly playable, with settings on High. So I am much happier now.
cheers for the heads up all
