Have you got a link to the source for clarification on availability of cynogen for touchpad?

I am running Alpha 3 at the moment which is rock solid, but still android 2.3 afaik..I know that the team are working on porting ICS but it's not expected anytime soon from what I understand. The currentl Alpha 3 is really really stable and is very usable..not had a single problem with it yet after a few weeks' use.

Is there and experimental release or early alpha etc for this version that I've not seen yet? I am assuming so since you imply that there is an early alpha of the update available

To be clear there's nothing publicly available at this stage. I based the report on strong rumours that had been generated from Cyanogen's recent update on the progress of ICS for CM9 coupled with posts such as this one where you can see evidence over at rootzwiki that work has begun, http://rootzwiki.com/topic/10940-tou...05#entry274605 in this case dalingrin is a community maintainer for the cyanogen team.

The gen I've got is that Meg W and co are still "considering the future of the platform" and that "an announcement on it's future is expected soon".

I've had a play around with my wife's TouchPad, (didn't buy one for me because I've already got an Android tablet), and to be honest it seems pretty darned decent all told. Horrifically overpriced originally, but I guess most decent tablets are "premium" priced.

Personally speaking I hope that HP do hold onto it, and let it spread to printers etc as was originally suggested.

However, as an Android owner/user I'm quite happy to see the possibility of ICS heading to that hardware.

WebOS has been getting regular updates since the sale and the entire "We don't know what we're doing with WebOS" situation.

In fact, there has been more updates to the WebOS platform since the big sale, than before!

Did see some refurbished touchpads on HP's US ebay store but won't ship to UK

This tranche was returns/refurbs and - at least according to the mails I've seen - they sold out pretty damned fast. In fact there was a lot of complaints about eBay/PayPal apparently really struggling to keep up with the demand. Lot of bad feeling that HP staff didn't get first refusal, and it seemed to be a US-only event.

So, unless someone's sitting on a stock they've kept quiet, then that's the last of the bargains. Sorry!.
