I'd love to hear peoples reviews on this when they play it!

It sure is good. I had early access and it seems to combine all the best features of every MMORPG that went before.
It's great on the whole - sadly still a few years behind the times as far as features go (think WoW TBC era) but that doesn't put the game down..still great fun to play and very immersive.
I got my jedi up to 19 and have just started a sith alt..and it's like a different game. If you like story then this is definitely a game to pick up, as it has tonnes of it.
Subscription based= FAIL
Bioware = 2 X FAIL
I played ME2 and was disappointed with how for secondary firing options of weapons, you have to pause and then choose what shot you want. WTH? And KOTOR was even worse, you pause and then select what you want to DO!
If you took the single player aspect of a very good BioWare game and bolted on multiplayer parts, you'd end up with the sort of game that SWTOR is.
You can definitely see the heritage of KOTOR as the game is heavily story driven, but the multi-player aspects are still a lot of fun if you have friends who are playing too. Advancement is mainly to progress through your class quest with that and side quests giving you enough experience to do so.
Group missions ("Heroic" quests and Flashpoints) are also available at certain levels (first Flashpoint is recommended level 10, the second at 17) to get a higher incidence of better equipment.
PVP gains you experience as well as items, so theoretically you could level up solely through that. Space missions are very much Rogue Squadron rather than X-Wing but still fun if you play them sporadically as a change of pace.
Multi-group raids are available but sparse at the early levels but you can see that BW know that they'll be a necessity at higher levels.
Strangely for me in an MMO, I'm more involved with advancing the story than my levels. Often gaining a level comes as a surprise as I don't take too much notice of how far along my xp bar is. As I said, and it's worth stating again, this does feel very much like a single-player game rather than an MMO.
One note on the side-quests, once you're past your starting planet (which you share with another class) the side-quests all seem to be the same for your faction (Republic or Empire) so I would start one character on each faction to begin with to avoid repetition early on. The classes themselves are mirrored so a Jedi Knight is the same as the Sith Warrior but with different names for abilities, skills et c.
There are 8 classes, 4 for each faction, so that's 8 different stories to get through if you have the time. There is a lot of game-play there for those that don't mind a bit of repetition in the side-quests.
early indications are most players are going `sith` - some cases over 90% of players on a server oO
So They turned off the grace period in today's downtime and guess what those people who have not signed up to a re-occuring subscription... Like me ... can no longer access the game even though I have 27 days left of play time.
And the best bit is EA can't accept payements for subscriptions as they have broken the website to do this.
Over all not impressed by the way that EA have completely fouled up the launch of the game. Oh when I say 27 days EA have stolen a day from me because I put in my retail code on the 19th even when they don;t let people in officially till the 20th ....
Should I feel agrieved by this because I honestly feel like they are stealing my money atm?
Game is good, more fun to level than wow I think. It did blow up my gcard tho
