I have too many neighbors to enjoy a good set of speakers, jealous of you guys

So many things to choose, this year has been a good one for toys!
i7 2600k 16gb 580Gtx build was a big jump up so love that, or the Wacom 4L (best thing ever!!!). But as sad as it sounds, the Revodrive3 240 is the best thing I've bought in a loong time, even jumping from a single corsairGT120.
Honorable mentions for the HD7 and the spyder3elite.

How do they actually enforce no-tethering?

Personally that kind of restriction really annoys me, if I paid for 250MB then it's my business through what device I use it, if I tether something to my phone it *should* work.

My best tech purchase this year? Hazro H227WD, a 27" IPS monitor really makes games look great! Honourable mention to my HTC Sensation, Crucial m4, Archos 80 G9.

For me its been my Samsung 51" 3D Plasma and a 2.1 Bluray Home Cinema (couldnt be chewed rewiring extra speakers for a 5.1 system given the size of my front room)

So we have a few 3D Bluray (still no Avatar yet though, wonder what the holdup is on that one) which play nicely on my PS3 or home cinema. Not forgetting 3D gaming on PS3 and also on PC when I actually get a long enough HDMI cable to run to the TV. Sky 3D has been a bit of a waste of time though. Mainly sports on which we arnt interested in, watched Jackass 3D which was cool but the highpoint has been watching Horse of the Year show, the Puissance was amazing (Its a wall that gets higher with every round basically and the horse has to clear it without knocking it flying)

For me it was my Kindle (and my wife's - lots of brownie points for that...), my Sensation, and games-wise Assassins Creed 2 for PS3. I know it's been out for ages, but I didn't buy it until this year...

Edit: Ooh, and my Canon Powershot SX220.

For me it was my Samsung Galaxy S2, closely followed by my Motorola XOOM - finally able to make my tech do what I want after being 'locked in and down' by Apple for too many years. On the gaming front, thank you Borderlands GOTY for eating up over 230 hours of my life :-)

Portal 2, Battlefield 3 and Forza 4. Really enjoyed them all. First time I have played Portal. The new Battlefield reinstated the series for me. Forza was enjoyable but very similar, a good family game though.

I just bought this as well - feeling quite lucky given the tales of woe across the net, as I have no dead pixels, no scratches on the glass, nothing. Just an astonishingly beautiful picture. Have become lost in Skyrim again since buying it.

However that was just into 2012, so doesn't really count. Best tech purchase of 2011 has to be the Galaxy Note. Hands down the best phone/tablet/media device thingy I've ever owned. I barely even need the laptop now: The Beast is for gaming and films, the Note does everything else .
