Be nice if it did this over a wireless connection and had some sort of 2 partition approach, partition for OS/Apps and one for data.

That's easy enough to achieve now, though it doesn't occur by default which I agree would be sensible. It would also make backing up data so much easier. Some guidance for win7 here: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/how...ia_storage_ssd

I take good care of my installation, ... put big data on different partitions etc. But it took a while to learn and most people will never learn, what MS need to do is enforce more of this type of OS/Data separation, prompt people to remove unused applications, prevent them from doing the things that cause degradation.

I think they ought to do a four partition approach:

The OS
Installed programmes
User settings
User data

You would then only really need to back up the last two, assuming you had copies of the installer files for any programmes.

It would get really clever if it could handle enlarging partitions on the fly but that's presumably too difficult.

Some sort of online application store would be good as well, if i reset my phone or tablet for instance when I log into my Google account it i can see what apps etc I have bought, and install them with a single click, something similar possibly using p2p technology would be very useful..
