Hmm, if the rumour is true then it kind of puts the lie to that quote from the late Mr Jobs that the smaller tablets (e.g. the Galaxy Tab 7.7) were a waste of time.

Going to disagree - as HP discovered, the current incumbents have just too much of a lead/market presence. I've read quite a few comments that "Windows 8 will be the game changer", but I've severe doubts about this - given the lack of take up for previous Windows tablets. Sure, Win8 will undoubtedly be more tablet friendly, but that's not a convincing argument against OS's that were designed for touch/smaller-platforms like iOS and Android.

As for Intel, well unless whatever they deliver can run the ARM binaries then they're going to get nowhere significant. Consumers (if you believe Apple) take one look at the size of the app stores and go with the platform with the largest ones (e.g. how many folks do you know with Blackberry Playbooks?).

if the rumours are to be believed though Apple Post Jobs is doing a lot of things he wouldnt like especially if the rumorus of a 4inch + Screen on the next iphone are to be believed.
