The UK prices are insane!

20% if you really feel the need to declare :p
Even then it's only £420 with a lifetime modders warranty.

do you have a link from hexus or a screen shot? because this news article , the only 1 on hexus , says otherwise.

Newegg had seven models in stock until they sold out. FIVE of them were around £420 to £430.
Re: News - AMD Radeon HD 7970: Launch-day pricing and availability
A good mate in Canada tells me he can get XFX 7970's for $529 Canadian locally. So for the same price as a single water cooled version from OCUK I could get a pair of water cooled 7970's with lifetime warranty:shocked2:
I'm running out of excuses to spend my brass in the UK.
Re: News - AMD Radeon HD 7970: Launch-day pricing and availability
Scan clearly showing their higher than everyone else prices as usual. Shame...
Re: News - AMD Radeon HD 7970: Launch-day pricing and availability
Why is Scans Sapphire card so expensive to everywhere else.
Re: News - AMD Radeon HD 7970: Launch-day pricing and availability
Just noticed the
ScanFX HD 7970 3GB In stock £479.75* is now £491.75
XFX HD 7970 3GB Core Edition Pre-order £515.75* is now 527.75
LOL
Re: News - AMD Radeon HD 7970: Launch-day pricing and availability
We thought AMD had priced them a little high.. clearly they should have sold them even higher to partners if retailers are able to up the prices so continuously.
(just market demand/supply unfortunately - competition doesn't work if a retailer knows they can sell out their allocation anyway so there's no incentive to lower prices)

Every single time, I could just copy and past everything I wrote from the 4xxx 5xxx 6xxx release and it would be as equally valid on this occasion.

WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE WHINGE!
I want shiny new card and I have decided what is a reasonable price for it. I want it NOW!
Anyone ever heard the phrase "good things come to those who wait"
If economies of scale allow the cards to be sold for sold for close to american prices in the UK with a reasonable profit margin, once supply is better, the prices will drop.
There is nothing wrong with making a better margin on an item you are guaranteed to sell out of even at a higher price.
