As nice as it is, I thought the XPS was a gaming brand. It seems that Dell now want to just label anything they see as a premium product for which it should use the old Adamo brand.
No, XPS is the design / performance brand, but not necessarily gaming. The Dell gaming brand is Alienware.
That said, I doubt a slim book with a ULV Core i3 is going to performance that well, so presumably it's got the XPS moniker based on design...
I was sold, right up until the display resolution... 1440x900++ upgrade and I'd have an itchy buying finger. Oh well guess I'll be sticking with my old M101z a while longer (that was £500 and is 1366x768, I want an upgrade on my old machine FFS!)
My guess is Dell are being limited by the $999 price point that they have to hit in order to be allowed to use the Ultrabook 'brand' - they spent too much on the chassis and had to skimp on the panel to hit the price point.
Either that or they're just hoping most people won't care too much about screen resolution - which is probably true of a lot of people, although I doubt many of them are forum members on Hexus!

my Hexus.Trust
This sounds like a flaw, not a feature - will it overheat if it decides to wake up in my bag?"wake periodically to detect known networks and update calendar and email."
I'd (obviously) rather they shoved that where the sun don't shine and offered an option with a higher resolution panel.
