I know ITV have (or are in the process of) changed their internal computing system to OS X and macs, wasnt aware there was going to be a collaboration between them.

Whatever happens, i see an apple TV as a bad thing as it could end up like being like iTunes where there is a lot of exclusive content on it. Anyone who chooses not to use DRM crippled software/hardware is then left behind.

Apple don't cooperate they just use your trademark and force you to sue against their obstructive lawyers so that in the end it becomes better to settle out of court and just about cover legal costs.

iPad, iOS, et al... a little capitalisation change and they think they own everything!

when a patent was filed in the US pertaining to "real time video process control using gestures" - a technology that works in a similar way to Microsoft’s Kinect peripheral
Surely microsoft have patented the hell out of kinect ?

.and microsoft are pretty strong in TV space already with Media Center

Don't worry it will be a massive seller as it will "revolutionalise" the TV market. Even if doesn't,its got Apple branding so will still be a big seller, and I am certain those who cannot afford it will make sure they will pay in installments for a few years to get the new shiny.

On top of this Apple will probably start suing companies who make TVs too.

The "it's too expensive" argument gets torn apart by apple's marketing team and also build quality every time, people are willing to pay for quality.

I would prefer to call it the illusion of better build quality. In my experience apple do not build things better than other companies, they have just created a mentality with their elitist advertising strategy that makes people believe its better.

Seeing as Apple do not manufacture themselves, instead using Foxconn et al, and do not make their own panels, instead using Samsung, LG et al, where's this extra quality coming from?
