You need to add the other rumour - it will cost £200!! :p
For one thing most of rumours (at least performance based) are untrue - plenty of GTX560 570 and 580 on sale. If they release something with 2x performance and less price, what £$diot would buy last generation? And who will take surplus hit?
"These benchmarks allegedly compare the performance of the GeForce 700 series against the current 500 series, running Battlefield 3 at 2,560x1,600, Ultra Preset and 4xMSAA."
With PhysX enabled at that! Fnoor fnoor! :p
Really Hexus, well done for making it clear these are rumours, but they are so bad it's not worth the screen space.
Are you sure all these rumours are untrue? :P
If those benchmarks are even remotely correct, it could cost £600 and still be loads better value to a high-res BF3 player then a 7970 is currently.
Hell, even if they fix the BF issue tomorrow, this is going to make many hold off at least a few weeks as it kinda implies (again, if rumours are true) that a GTX760 should be at least as fast as a 7970, let alone a 7950.
Will be interesting to see if this effects 7970 pricing in the next couple of weeks.
As for truth of them.....on the whole the 7970 rumours were correct.
I heard the physx thing is something to do with the driver having it turned on by default or something... I'm sure it's sill fake though :p.
Graph looks kinda photoshopped but could just be jpeg artefacts... who photoshops a graph?? You can just make a new one in excel!
$299 price lol

I'll see it when it happens. if the die is small that would indicate a low power output, not a high one
Looks like the £200 HD7970 bashing card rumour is true!! Actually that would be be nearer £240 if you added VAT providing UK retailers don't "adjust" the price.
I wonder how long it will take to be released and how many months Nvidia plans to stall AMD sales!:p
"Looks foward to £100 HD7950/Nvidia equivalent card at the end of the year."
:p
Maybe its a clever PR stunt, Nvidia know people think that the 7 series is going to be released next, so they've just thrown out what they want the 7 series to be, so people will be like :O don't buy anything look at the performance. Then they release the 6 series, which ain't as powerful and try and make as much from that as possible, hoping people would just buy them anyway. Also those benchmarks at those high resolutions, isn't that were AMD have typically scaled a little bit better recently? So having twice the performance could just be going from 20-40 fps. However who knows, looking forward to the release :)
If the TDP's are right though, these could be graphics crunching behemoths!
Well this has whetted my appetite, although money's very tight at the moment so I can see me waiting for at least a few months after launch to let pricing drop a bit, and hopefully give me time to save up enough :)
Rumours are good, but don't forget the old mantra....
There's always something better coming out soon...
You have to remember that statistics and results can be hand picked at their best. No driver information is given, could be old drivers for the 5xx and new for the 7xx which can make a large difference (i cannot read if this is true due to the watermark in the second picture).
Also remember nvidia did this last time when they got beaten by AMD on the release dates, they are just releasing this so people will put off buying the AMD cards until nvidia has something new to compete. Hence why no information on price, just mainly false hope.
I do hope they are good thou, competition means lower prices =] x
If this is true, despite the 28nm process i can see these consuming much power and producing even greater heat.
ROFL! It seems that these Kepler rumors were created by nvidia viral marketers and are not true. All of the currently circulated Kepler rumors originated from a select group of posters at CHIPHELL and spread from there to other sites like Fud. (among others). Turns out the owners/admin of CHIPHELL found out that it was nvidia viral marketers posting lies to slow AMD 7900 sales. In addition, all of the slides in your editorial originated from chiphell.
Chiphell uncovered nvidia viral marketers perpetuating kepler rumors: rough chinese translation

Many forumss in China all have various articles about Kepler being inexpensive, and speculate performance. Looking at our inside sources, there is no kepler information. All the editors "uncovering leaked" information in the major forums is clearly NV's (Nvidia) PR using the flooder(people who mass comment on forums) army to suppress the HD7900's selling and its lead. I will lock any Chiphell posts, and I hope that any other members reposting [GF104 rumors] will maintain discipline. These rumors that have been posted are unsubstantiate and are from nvidia marketers.
