I didn't redistribute it.....I just downloaded it..... 0kb/s upload setting sorts that.

Why did I want them? Because I prefer not waiting for dodgy snail mail deliveries, nor do I like high-street prices. I also do not like the uber slow download speeds you can get on a big titles release date....and I really do not trust origin....

So, I download the install disks up to a week in advance and then go through the steam/origin install on release day with my pukka key.
Unfinished product.....hmmm....even if it was (haven't had one yet), steam/origin will download the differences.
Fake.....just download another.....not that I've downloaded a fake yet (who uploads 5-20GB of fake data anyway?)
Virus ridden......err, I haven't been done by a virus in YEARS. Doesn't really take more then a couple of mins to ensure what your download is virus free. Uniextract is a great little tool for helping uncover some of the "hidden" viruses.

Actually downloaded my copy of bf3 off origin on release day after my physical copy arrived (my drive couldn't read the dvd).. it downloaded at full speed for me.

Both Crysis2 and MW3 were terrible games! They deserve to be pirated!

I am about to dwnld Force Unleashed 2. For a 3 hour game, why should I spend money buying it?

Re: News - Most pirated games of 2011 include Crysis 2 and MW3

Even though I buy the physical copies of my games, I much prefer downloading the games as soon as they become available, and installing them from an image, in silence, than waiting for the game to arrive, then waiting for it to do the long process of installing from dvd. I dislike optical drives, they're noisy and slow.

Although I don't use torrent sites, I use fileserve. But with the recent events, for how much longer they will be allowing public sharing, who knows.

Hmm, I think we can address the "unfinished product" accusation to the publishers - certainly judging on the number of complaints about flaws in the recent CoD releases.

I hope you were saying that first bit tongue-in-cheek - best way to stop terrible games is persuade no-one to buy them, lack of revenue has a marvellous effect on games publishers.

As to Force Unleashed 2 - if it's only 3 hours play time, then isn't it a bit of a waste of time spending 30-60 minutes downloading a pirate copy? Think I'd begrudge the time spent playing that as well.

Please link where they said it? I can link to plenty of publisher statements that don't say it, but showing a negative is rather trivial.

They also don't say that planned obsolescence to force new game purchases and selling DLC are reasons why they exclude the community from creating content, but they still exclude the community from creating content.

I think every game I've played in the last few years has had a publisher which has whole heartedly encompassed community content, so I don't know what you mean. Skyrim is getting DLC, but we're getting a toolkit and content sharing system even before that comes out.

If you want to play it then it must be worth paying for?, Talking like that is just a lame way of justifying piracy to yourself.

Pirates like you that cause devs to ether not release games on the PC these days or do crappy ports.

If you don't think its worth paying for then don't get it.

You don't see me going out and stealing a Ferrari because I want one but don't think its worth the £150k asking price do you?

What nonsense. Publishers are raking in more PC gaming cash than ever before. 'Piracy' is just a convenient excuse for being cheap, peddling substandard wares, and using a combination of grossly broad and meshed copyright, contract, and crypto laws, most of which big content bribed through, to impose fascist conditions which erode the very legitimate 2nd hand market, which is a *much* greater threat to their substandard product models.

The whining about piracy has nothing to do with piracy, the rate of piracy is the same as it ever was. It's all about control and squeezing more profits from the consumer.

Skyrim having DLC and a toolkit isn't evidence that all games with DLC have a toolkit. There's plenty of games out now which never had a toolkit released for them.

3 on this list alone count among them.

The whining about piracy has nothing to do with piracy, the rate of piracy is the same as it ever was. It's all about control and squeezing more profits from the consumer.
So your saying Piracy isn't bad?
