Really looking forward to Mass Effect 3 but not preordering this time. ME2 dropped from £27 (as preordered on PC) to £13 within two or three months. I can't help but think the mutliplayer element has been added to keep its value higher for longer but I've no interest in that part and a little worried its taken attention from the single player story (Which is the reason ME exists!).

Hey, you can't even pre-order it at Game.

It will only cost about £10 won't it? I'm sure you could afford both.

Which one, T2 or D3? I assume D3 will cost at least £30 at launch, and I'm not paying that much for a game that requires me to be connected to the internet. In fact, I doubt I'll buy it at any price if it has that restriction (and all available information says it will...).

Anyway, whether I could afford both games depends entirely on how my job search goes over the next 2 months...

Ah, i meant T2. I agree with the D3 price. SCII still cost me £35 a few months after launch.

Good luck with the job search.

Re: Features - Top ten most anticipated games of 2012

Got d3 on preorder via amazon for £20... been on order for awhile, wont be cancelling until i see a cheaper place.

Im not overly fussed about d3 if its a flop or not, ive been waiting years... it will pee me off but that would be the end of it if its bad since torchlight 2 will take over! Loved the first one but lack of multiplayer really killed it for me (since d2 was my fave hack and slash and had it in 2000!).

Got ME3 preordered for £21 at bee.com and ill keep that again until i find it cheaper, unfortunately no random EA sales yet... be nice to get it for £15 like ME2! It will be epic, single player is going to be as good if not better than the previous ones and the coop is going to be hit and miss, coop is developed my another studio so bioware arent doing that bit which is the best way... less risk of screwing the whole game up!. Cant wait for it!.

No idea where Kalniel magiced Kingdoms of Amalur from but that looks like it could be very impressive.

GW2 should finally be launched this year. Something like 3 years too late though so the excitement has pretty much worn off.

For the first time in history, the Metal Gear Solid series won't be a PlayStation exclusive
Neither MGS 1 & 2 were PlayStation exclusives and were both available on PC.

Re: Features - Top ten most anticipated games of 2012

I've got too many "back catalogue" games to go through to be much bothered with the list given - e.g. got two Assassin's Creeds; LA Noire; Batman: Arkham Asylum and a Splinter Cell to do on the XBox. Too many good special offers at my local Gamestation in December!

That said, Ghost Recon looks interesting - although I think I'd forgo the Kinect "enhancements" and get that on the PC if it ever appears on that.

GTA-V I'm not sure of - certainly wouldn't buy it at full price on launch, and personally I enjoyed Saint's Row 2/3 a lot more.

    I know, I'm a contrary old curmudgeon.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

A very good idea to try and clear the backlog. Perhaps you should set up a support group?

I have both MEs, Witcher, just cause, DoA etc etc etc. So would be could be your first member.

I've already promised the better half that I won't buy any more games on steam until I have at least installed and played every game on my account. So I've got a fair few to get through before I can accumulate any more...
