I had hoped they would change the decision to remove the + from the new tab button but looks like they haven't...
Now what does that blank button next to the tab do??

What button? On each tap the cross means close or if you mean the actual + at the end of the current tab thats easy, new tab... Im missing something arent i?

Miniyazz, you arent updated to v1.17, click the wrench then about chrome, it should update then(mine did).

Man, you guys are right. They took out the damn + out of the new tab button. Looks bad. What was the point of doing that?

Running Chromium 18 here... I was using Chromium 17 before it was cool to run Chromium 17.

Still cruising at a leisurely Chromium 16.
Will do sometime later this month, when I restart Chrome
Got Chrome v18 update on my Ubuntu box this morning - apart from the missing "+" sign on the tab bar I can't see much difference*. Likewise for the Windows system - although that claims to be up to date at v17.
* It might be a little bit quicker to launch - but not so much that I can be sure that the "improvement" isn't down to me looking for a change.
Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...
