I hope this leads to 100% televised coverage of football games, not this partial bollocks we currently have to put up with. If it can go a step further and have the same game being televised on multiple channels at the same time then we'd actually have choice when it comes to watching live football.
I miss the sports coverage South Africa has...
Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Sky got burned!
Maybe its time they realised that people dont want to pay the inflated prices they insist on charging...
Yes! It's utterly infuriating. How is it that in the UK, where the Premiership is played, we can watch a tiny fraction of matches played, even for the top clubs, and in China, India, or Europe, you can watch virtually all of them?
And the EU Competition Commission nonsense from a couple of years ago was even worse. Competition would be multiple channels showing the same match, not multiple channels showing different matches.
The situation for the typical football consumer is absolutely terrible in the UK and it's all because of daft laws and a lack of competition. Sky even record and commentate for every single Premiership game, it's just that they aren't allowed to show them live - they have to wait until 8pm. Utter nonsense.
Sounds Good, we should all now subscribe to Nova TV and force SKY to lower there prices !
Anyone know if Nova TV can be picked up from the Sky Astra sats?

Hold on a second, I think there's more to it than that:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012...-set-top-boxes
There's a big catch with this - using foreign satellite services is fine and dandy (That's what this case was about, but the Premier League is now claiming that they own the COPYRIGHT for the matches (or at least all the PL branding that gets shown on them), which they still have legal rights to dictate who can broadcast where. So Nova TV is fine and legal but Nova TV showing a PL game in the UK is not.
It's not over yet.
Unless Nova TV don't show the PL branding
They could easily blur that out !
Assuming games are going to be shown in every pub; I imagine this is going to hit the PL in the wallet too as sky will lower their bidding to secure the rights. Can only be good in the long run if there is less money in the game.
However on a serious note I believe that this rule was put into place to try and boost local attendances. Hitting them financially is a real downer as well as more drunken idiots spilling out of the pubs when the games finish at 5ish. This makes me thonk the status quo is not so bad.
Hope this carries over to F1 as well.
