Looks good (but not cheap). 15dB with 50cfm is not to be sneezed at.
I will eat my hat if the 120mm fan really runs at 1500 RPM and only produces 15.7 dBA! Never seen specs like that before and they be correct.
I really must get my eyes checked - thought that, at first glance at least, that said "nearly unbearable".New range of PC case fans that claim to be "nearly unhearable."
Joking aside, if these specs are genuine then they look like pretty darn fine units - and I'll probably get an 80 and a 120 to quieten down an old PC build I've got here.
Does anybody have PSU from this be quiet company? Any good? I can see them popping up everywhere but never heard of.
Don't know where you get the "5cfm" figure from - the values quoted are the CFM values. If you're interested, according to http://www.be-quiet.net/be-quiet.net...websiteLang=en the CFM and m3/h values are:
- 26.0CFM, 44.2m3/h (80mm);
- 50.5, 85.8 (120mm);
- 60.4, 102.6 (140mm);
Sub 15dB for an 80mm fan running at 2000rpm sounds like a useful feat of engineering to me.
Looks interesting, for years I've been saying I'm going to buy Noctuas. Its nice they come in a 140mm size, since atleast in my case the 140mm tri cool is pretty loud. So, will these be up for wins in a competition?
I'll eat my hat as well as long as I can have a bit of tomato sauce and black pepper with it.
The GlobalWin Ceramic Bearing fans I have are rated 19db at 1350rpm! Never! They are very good fans and quiet when undervolted but not 19dba.
I have never trusted the noise specs provided by manufacturers![]()
All,
Hello, this is Scott Richards from be quiet!. I thank everyone for their comments. These specs are true. This is a German company and, believe me, we take our engineering and specifications seriously.
I understand that it is healthy to have some skepticism about some specs thrown around in this business. But engineering for quiet performance is our mission. I'll skip all the marketing talk, you can see that on the web. But our specs are real and have been tested and verified by independent and respected publications such as c't and PC Games Hardware here in Germany. PCGH found one of our fans to reach the lowest limit of its testing capability for noise in a recent fan round up in which we took the top three places in both the 120mm and 140mm category.
While I am here, I do have to respectfully disagree with Brewster0101. We have been the best selling power supplies in Germany for six years in a row and not by a little. If we are not well known or under recognized in the UK market, that is our fault from a sales and marketing aspect. But just one example, looking at an online etailer today, I have found our Pure Power L8 530W with cable management for around £60, compared to a PSU from the best selling brand in the UK at 550W with cable management at around £75. Our PSU's 120mm fan is 10dB(A) quieter, based on printed specifications, than their supposedly quiet 140mm fan.
Thanks for listening!

Hi Scott, is brilliant to hear from the manufacture on these topics... Bravo....
I based my comment on when I was recently looking at a new high end PSU. I ended up buying a Corsair AX850 over your Be QuietDark Power Pro 750W
Both similar prices and very impressive power specs and efficiently... but the Corsair won my money because it was 100% modular, the fan was commented on as being very quiet too but with the bonus it didn't even spin up until hitting 50% load and the manufactures 7 years warranty.
7 Years warranty!!!! thats the real deal when spending £100 + on a power supply.
