Nice piece of thinking! That date - "03/30" in US date format - is a numeric palindrome and I thought that, like the Chinese (and Japanese?), the Koreans think that "3" is a lucky number.

Superstition's aside, presumably 3rd March (03/03) would have been too close to MWC. That said, I'm going to agree with the article that perhaps this announcement will be the stuff shown at MWC, because I thought Samsung were hell-bent on doing a major production for the launch of the S3, a la Apple iPhone announcements.

Well anyone know what the big announcement actually turned out to be then?

I figure it wasn't the S3, or else the press would have been full of it. Only thing that seems to be suggested is that the "big secret" is merely that the particular P4U has had a makeover with (partial?) sponsorship by Samsung.
