I have been looking forward to Infinity in my area since i moved house (was previously using IWC @ 20Mbps) reading this makes me want it even more! big thumbs up for upload increase.

Nice of them to actually tell anyone about this.
That said, it's a bl**dy confusing set of stats.

Re: News - BT Infinity speed increases for no extra charge

So my upgrade went through yesterday at point however BT didn't email me to confirm that it was complete. The only way I found out was by rebooting the modem this morning and then doing a speedtest. Results as follows

    Previous
    37/8 Mb

    Predicted
    51/10 Mb

    Post Upgrade
    70/8 Mb

So massive increase in download speed but no increase in upload, obviously this may change in the coming days so I will be monitoring it. But overall I'm very happy if this is maintained.

How long have you had the upgrade as there is meant to be a 10 day "stabilizing period". Which confused me as I thought that only applied to ADSL lines...

It was supposed to be provisioned last Friday - but it looks like it hasn't been

Re: News - BT Infinity speed increases for no extra charge

Really hoping to see this available in my area, hopefully with a BT Infinity Option 3, as per the current Option 3 which has unlimited downloads and no throttling.

Even if I didn't get the full speed, getting around 20Mbit/s down and perhaps 5Mbit/s up would be lovely compared to the barely 4Mbit/s down and 1Mbit/s up I currently have.

You can check to see if/when it's planned on BT's website.

They had my local exchange on their list of planned upgrades for March, but it no longer shows on their site and apparently I'm still inelligible for BT Infinity, sigh

They constantly update that list. And there was a giant Google Spreedsheet posted somewhere with tons of information on all the exchanges across the country in it.

Re: News - BT Infinity speed increases for no extra charge

Well i got the upgrade and my download went from 40mb to just under 50mb and my upload remains the same at around 8 - 9 mb. So my connection to the exchange must be pretty poor.
