Wouldnt have thought wiki would be so bad.
Do we have any indication of which of the websites in the test were "mobile" (i.e. useless) sites, and how many were the "full, proper" websites? The article implies that a mixutre were tested, but doesn't clarify which. That would massively skew the results, as mobile sites are usually deliberately cut down and optimised for mobile devices (and 99/100 times this results in ruining the site, but I digress!) whereas a "normal" site wouldn't be.
Apple's website is pretty shocking anyway - seriously no-one needs images that size on their homepage!
I bet the Apple website uses less power if you browse it from an Apple device

Aha thank you, I misread that
Surely those "full" websites should be excluded then? This seems like a very basic error considering the quality of the source material. Which shows that actually it's Wikipedia causing the most problems...
Does lead to a popular headline though - "Apples website ate my battery" is going to get you many more readers than "wikipedia ate my battery"
If only there was a hamster involved somewhere we could have had an even better headline.
