Ooh, downloading![]()
Well that wouldn't be difficult!significant improvements to the operating system's Unity front-endI'm pretty happy with my current 10.04LTS release, so I'll have a look at 12.04 (in a VM) but if Unity's as obnoxious as it was previously then I'm going to defect to Mint.
Is 12.04 the one with this "hud" feature that Mr S'worth was talking about? I thought it was.
I downloaded and installed this onto my ION box yesterday, seems alright but i havnet probed into it too deeply.
Unity is a nice idea but its quite frustrating at times as it just seems to be lacking some basic GUI functionality.
Well I'm about to swap disk drives in my laptop so I'll drop 12.04 on and see if Unity is any better.
I won't get my hopes up, though. Still, it's easy enough to fix: `sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop`![]()
It's nice, but I have been playing around with openSUSE recently and in the process have been discovering KDE 4.8 and GNOME 3, both of which are just awesome. They will keep me occupied for a while.
