“The world's most advanced mobile operating system”... according to who??? Apple?
It might be the most advanced because many ideas will be taken from other companies. Then apple will try to bring law suites against everyone for copying.
They should change the description though to most expensive os yet.
I do have an iPad2 which was more expensive than the android equivalent bit it was what my boy wtd..
How do we stop Apple, the answer is simple!!!
1. Android Developers need to develop more quality Apps for Phones and Android Tablets.
2. Android tablets need to get into supermarkets to sit alongside the Apple stands and be on a repeatable loop demoing games, browsing etc. to catch the punters eyes.
Can I add a third request? How about the tablet makers actually do a coherent marketing campaign! My local PC World has a HUGE Apple stand, and the "lesser" Samsung etc tablets are stuffed in a corner. In which case no wonder the general public think iPads are the only game in town...
(Sent from my Asus Transformer, which I like very much even though its kind of long in the tooth now)
I agree there they dont seem to be prominent in stores...
Only Apple can get a page on major tech sites because they have put a poster up somewhere
Stop feeding the machine.
Edit - the more I think about this, the crazier it seems. This is an article, talking about another article from another site about a company putting a banner up. I know the media loves to jump on anything Apple related, but there is limits guys.
Hmm, call me cynical, but I can't really see how the "headline" new features are any big deal, e.g.the banner refers to iOS 6 as “The world's most advanced mobile operating system”.
iOS 6 has been hinted to contain the following headline new features, among other rumours;
Facebook integration
Siri for iPad
Google Maps dumped and replaced with Apple’s own mapping app
Live updating widgets
A new look iTunes App Store
Facebook integration - oh please, my old Xperia X10 had that, and that was two years ago;
Siri for iPad - any different from Siri for iPhone? If not, then surely all that comes down to is that they've tabletized the app. And that's not going to be any improvement for iPhone and iPod Touch users (who also use iOS);
Google Maps replaced with another app - is the new Apple-Drive (I'm going to claim dibs on that - so hands off Apple!) any better than G.Maps? If not, then I fail to see the advance. Heck I use ALK CoPilot instead of Google Maps - but that's more to do with CoPilot not needing a data connection whereas G.Maps does;
Live updating widgets - hmm, you mean like the tiles that WP7 has? Maybe Microsoft should be putting their legal team on standby. If Apple can sue over that moronic hyperlink "feature" then the live widgets thing is surely worth a couple of mil into Redmond's coffers?
I like technical innovation just as much as the next geek, but if this is the extent of the progress then it's pretty unimpressive. Still I'm sure the iFans will love it ... let the hypegasm commence.
Seem to remember using iDrive for online storage about 12 years ago so someone might get rich selling that to them.
apple want to make something called iTV - the TV company called iTV are somewhat not happy about that idea.....
