That's pretty awesome tbh, who in the tech world ever listens to their customers?!
I think that shows MS is actually listening. They're just going about marketing their products badly.
I mean, when was the last time that MS showed a good commercial for their products? They do some damned awesome stuff (SSAS, SSRS, Win 7, WMP IMO) but absolutely SUCK at advertising it to the masses. Instead it's your local consultant (@£300+ per day) who tells you about their products. Their web site is an absolute mine field of information, so I'm not surprised that they (Expletive deleted) the consumers and freelance trade off with decisions like this (or what this was supposed to be) - they don't actually work with their users....
I think the entire development process of Visual Studio 2012 has shown how completely out of touch Microsoft are with their own customers.
First they tried to rid Visual Studio 2011's GUI of every colour of the rainbow [backtracked after uproar], and then they thought it'd be a great idea to ditch desktop support for Express users [backtracked after uproar].
Who have Microsoft put in charge of this product?! I thought product releases were supposed to be iterative, and built upon solid concepts that have worked well in the past?
