    Grrr. Guess this means I now absolutely have to get my Android phone before then so I can still get flash on it.

    I'll be happy with the loss of flash when not a single website uses it any more. Until that day, losing flash functionality just means that your mobile device cannot browse a heck of a lot of sites.

    If it makes sites speed up their migration to HTML5 then its a good thing.

    IIRC Iphones and Ipads and the whole apple eco system doesnt use flash at all?

    I haven't had flash installed on my Desire for a long time now.

    I do not miss it at all.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    I read this as: "Adobe cave-in and admit that Flash is a resource hog and they've given up trying to make it anything else, unfortunately proving old Jobsy right and also making mobile devices more limited until the world catches up and stops using Flash for sites".

    Still enough Flash sites out there (mainly estate agents offending for me this month) I'd like to at least have the option to *try* and view on my phone and especially tablet.

    Guess that means 4OD will no longer work which is a shame as I've been using my note to play stuff from 4OD on my TV... (Maybe we'll finally get an App?)

    Re: News - Android 4.1 offers many things, Adobe Flash isn't one of them

    I'm disappointed by this, I'm sure it wouldn't of taken much to port flash over. I know Flash is a resource hog, but there are many websites which still use this including some of my favourite *ahem* adult sites which don't offer a mobile alternative.

    I just hope that Windows 8 now accelerates the Flash downfall and other sites will now convert to using HTML5 or Adobe changes its mind and offers Flash for Jellybean.

    Well looks like it will move away from flash all the sooner now!

    Oh yes I know those sites too, can be a real pain!

    The sooner flash dies, the better.

    Once all of the major mobile operating systems nolonger support flash the mainstream media providers will move away from it.

    Re: News - Android 4.1 offers many things, Adobe Flash isn't one of them

    Adobe had already announced this would be the case a while back. What makes it slightly odd though is that the ARM version of Windows 8 will support Flash! (and Adobe went out of their way to do a deal with Microsoft to get it supported)

    Further, since Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 will basically have a common OS kernel, I wouldn't be surprised if the latter goes on to support Flash. Thereby, basically making Flash a Microsoft exclusive (tablet and phone, and close to for PC*).

    (*: okay, not strictly technically an exclusive but close with Adobe's limited Linux support, Apple discouraging Flash, and others being minor players).
