I recall reading a article headline that suggested it has already been reviewed and launched a few weeks ago over at Anandtech.

if those specs are true then it is looking like a solid release... excellent overclocks on the same TDP, interesting .

Although i hope they release it ~$350 and not $399 as the former is what the standard 7950s are priced at currently, be nice to have this extra performance and again shows how improved yields can give massive gains in to the top end(providing its true...).

Im just waiting for a very cheap secondhand one to come available, i.e a gtx670/80 7950/70 for the price of <£100 haha until then im waiting for next gen .

Re: News - Is AMD getting ready to launch a Radeon HD 7950 GHz Edition?

Well the HD7970 GHZ is already confirmed by AMD, Surely the HD7950 GHZ will follow since AMD will most likely discontinue the Hd7970/50. Every new HD7970 will have higher speeds, so its only natural to have HD7950 GHZ as a continuation from the HD7970 GHZ.

You cant have the hd7970 and the hd7970 ghz coexist in the same market, the price difference, no matter how small or big currently as things stand in the market today wouldn't allow that to be even remotely possible.

I already have one, ok I know I overclocked it myself but it does seem reading about pretty much all of them make it to 1ghz.
