Yes I will. Same time last year there was only a choice of Archos and Lenovo but both were with huge flaws and outdated hardware/software. Google for software + ASUS for HW seems a pretty decent mix if you ask me. And the price is right.

Yup getting the 8gig one to have a good play, it will be going to my gran as the magic "I can see my grandson when he is on the other side of the world thanks to the neighbours wifi" device.

Re: News - QOTW: Will you be buying Google's Nexus 7 tablet?

IF it had a microSD card slot, I would be VERY tempted to get one. Unfortunately, without this, even at £159, it's a deal-breaker for me.

I wouldn't touch Apple with a barge-pole since I've had no end of trouble with 2 macbook pros and 2 mac pros at work, they just seem slow, expensive and completely unreliable, although some of their innovations are definitely positive for the market as a whole (even if their legal team is not...).

I already have a Playbook and an iPad in addition to my desktops and laptops, and my Samsung GS2, so I really have no need... but it does look nice and it is likely to rank highly on my list of recommended gadgets for others

it looks like a decent effort but shame no microsd slot, if they did a 10" version with an expansion slot for <£200 id consider it . Im personally waiting for MS surface just to see what the w8 sector looks at the end of this year, im in no rush at all!.

Re: News - QOTW: Will you be buying Google's Nexus 7 tablet?

I think a tablet is not really something I need in my life. I do a lot of browsing and the same sort of stuff on my Desire HD. If that breaks I might get one of these plus a cheap phone to have when I'm out and about. The price is definitely right but hopefully give it a few months we might see some even better deals on it. No microSD is the biggest oversight but I think a tablet is more for in the house (where you can keep things on a hard drive) or for long journeys (where the 16GB would be ample for enough films/TV/apps to last as long as the battery will).

In summary: looks a great product at a great price but I don't have the need just now.

I'm a solid no on the Nexus7, I am intending on getting a tablet but no hurry, as it stands I'm planning on getting the Asus transformer pad infinity but I may be swayed toward microsoft once I see some reviews...

Ditto, if it had MicroSD, for sure, however, no.

Re: News - QOTW: Will you be buying Google's Nexus 7 tablet?

Ordered mine already, the great price and good specs sold me on the idea of a tablet to complement my PC at University; time will tell if it works out or not, either way it will get some good use.

I will be getting one as asap, i find the size of ipads to be a pain so this sounds like perfect compromise on price/size. i enjoy android OS as well.

Re: News - QOTW: Will you be buying Google's Nexus 7 tablet?

Every time, Google ruins the Nexus devices by omitting a card reader.

Oh, if I was to bother with a tablet at all, it'd have to be a 10"er.

Re: News - QOTW: Will you be buying Google's Nexus 7 tablet?

I'm thinking no. I'm tempted, but it's not for me. If I have a Windows 8 slate and a new, ~4.7" phone I'm really not sure which niche the Nexus would be filling. Given I'll likely have those things later this year it's hard to justify buying one for a few months use (followed by an eternity as an eReader?).

Liking the poll and particularly liking the options provided... I was planted in the last option for a long time until I saw this deal and did some analysis of my computing needs at University.
