Well I only joined them last month so no
The thing is it could have happened to any network its fixed now and will hopefully be ok.
Plus I have a great package with unlimited calls and texts for 36 quid so much better than the orange deal i was on
They're good on a whole so no. Eeach network has problems of some sort. Just that this seemed to be a big one. Hopefully an isolated incident, thought it didnt affect me really.
Ditched O2 for Vodafone years back and wouldn't fancy to come back. Mind you, Vodafone network isn't a pretty picture either. I have had number of issues with them and being PAYG customer I sometimes feel ignored. But hey, what else is there besides (Ireland) Meteor, 3G and Tesco that just don't have good enough coverage and most people I know are O2 or Vodafone.
So no, if I was O2 for incident like this I would not ditch them. If you look around and more importantly try around most networks are some half ass money machines.
Tesco is a virtual provider who use O2's network.
Anyway, I'm not with them, but no I don't see why a 24h downtime would turn me away by itself; without knowing exactly what the problem was, it could potentially happen to any network. People taking the Mickey, claiming compensation for anything and everything are part of the reason we have pages of T+Cs, complicated get-out clauses, etc affecting everyone else. Fair enough waiving the charge for the time of the outage though.
Again, not much is known about the problem, but from what I do know, they handled it well giving me more confidence in them if anything...
Recently went over to Giff Gaff so no, won't be ditching O2 network. Seems to be the 2nd outage in as many months but these things happen and could've been any of them. I try to look at it as they've now fixed a serious problem that could be waiting to happen to the others..... lol, I know... gets me through the day anyhoo
Moved to them via Giffgaff last month. I found a noticeable drop in signal from Orange/t-Mob...24 hours is not a problem as long as it doesn't happen again. The poor quality signal in general is more of a problem imo.
I'm going to file it as one of those things.. I'm a GiffGaff user and have been for a while (there have been a few cock-ups with them, recently too) and as I'm also a NatWest user, I'm just waiting for outage number three on something technical!
Yes, but not because of this. Their infrastructure in the town where I work (High Wycombe) is shockingly unreliable. I've been with O2 since May last year and I've lost count of the amount of times I've completely lost 3G/HSDPA access while at work, usually for days/weeks at a time. This week's outage didn't really affect me because my 3G signal has been down all week anyway.
Means I'll probably find a new home broadband provider too, I'm only with them because I get a discount for being a mobile customer.
Did seem a massive problem to all those people who were ranting.
'My wife was stuck outside the hospital in the run because she couldn't call me for a lift...'
Guess his wife never heard of a land line or pay phone.....
'I couldn't text my sister Happy Birthday and she was upset..'
Don't be a such a cheap ****er and send a card next year.
etc etc etc
People are pathetic when mobile devices don't work. World comes to a complete stop......

I'm a giffgaff user too but I didn't notice the outage? Either way these things happen. It was worse during the new years where people couldn't call/text but that's also normal.

'fraid the outage just passed me by - low usage on a dumb phone so it was always working when I needed it.
wont be changing - they usually do me allright , that and tmob/orange is utterly aweful here - cant get a signal and the reply from them? use the phone in the gardren
Didn't affect me on GiffGaff, I would of made a plan if I did loose signal though. I doubt it will cause me to move considering I have managed to earn all the airtime I need on GiffGaff for my first 3 months, not going to get better than a provider that pays me to use their service.
