    The way I look at my upgrades now, is that if it runs a game well enough then I don't need the upgrade. If the game struggles then I'll look at upgrading. The way they've made Gfx cards over the last few years the "old ones" like the 8800's etc are still more than capable of running a lot of the newer games, even if you have to perform some tweaks in order to get them to run.

    Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be buying a GeForce GTX 660 Ti?

    Your 100% correct Teyo!

    I've been able to play most games at a decent quality on my 8800, it's actually outlasted about 4 different PC builds lol, originally bought it when I had a 3.8GHz P4, then moved to an AMD Athlon X2, then an Intel i5-760 and now an Intel i5-3750k!

    Every single part of my computer has been replaced while my 8800 has kept going strong, it's just showing it's age now and I struggle to play BF3 at a decent framerate. And tbh, I really want to play BF3 on ultra lol!

    I've only bothered upgrading my CPU as I've gone from a 100% gaming PC over to a 75% work/study PC running Windows Server 2008R2 with Hyper-V and 25% gaming, so I've upgraded what I needed.

    Don't get me wrong, if I had the money I would happily buy top-end hardware every year, but I have other things in my life that take priority now.

    I was about to buy a 660ti SC edition on Saturday afternoon from my local PC store in NZ (499 NZD +GST) when I looked one shelf up to see a leaktek GTX 670 for EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE
    I'm now a bit conflicted - I can get a 7950 OC edition for $50 less, but the whole reason I was looking for the 660 is for CUDA support

    I would be a tad careful about CUDA and Kepler. The GK104 is not a compute optimised core like the GF110 and this can lead to cases where cards like the GTX580 and GTX570 can do very well against the GTX670 and GTX680. Moreover,AFAIK,Kepler has moved over to software scheduling which means software optimisation is even more critical with Kepler.

    I don't think he was mate, obviously a card 2 generations on would be considerably more powerful. But as he says - at 1080p the 460 is still a great card.

    Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be buying a GeForce GTX 660 Ti?

    Will I be buying a 660Ti? Nope, three reasons:
    1. Like aidanjt, my current 460 is "delivering the goods" - I've not got a multi-monitor or super high-res setup, and the 460 is one of Gigabytes "Super OC" models, so it's quite quick (@1080p) and very quiet;
    2. If I had the money to afford a 660Ti, I'm getting the distinct impression (from comments made by the illuminati here) that I'd be better spending a tiny amount more and getting a more capable 670 instead;
    3. With fall vacation, christmas, two sets of insurance bills etc I just can't afford a shiny-shiny for my gaming rig, and even if I had £300 to spend (which I don't) then I think I'd be replacing that POS LG monitor that I'm using at the moment.

    Nah, I've got an SLI pair of 7800GT's in my loft - actually trying to find a way to "dispose" of them - other than consigning them to a skip.

    I've just 'disposed' of my old EVGA 7800GT, that I originally bought for around £250 to play Battlefield 2. It went for about a fiver on eBay! Still, it's better than collecting dust in a box under the stairs, & at least it went to a good home

    i'm quite content with my GTX 570 atm, but was thinking of purchasing the gtx 680/670 but my card still max majority of the games on the market. When haswell and GTX 7 series launches i may swap my rig with a new build.

    Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be buying a GeForce GTX 660 Ti?

    NO. This card is way too expensive atm. Whole 6xx and HD 7xxx generation are way too pricey.
    At least AMD is doing price cuts.

    660ti should release at at least 30% lower prices and other cards similarly.

    Atm 660ti for me is in high-end price range. Too expensive.
