Interesting development. It's a shame you used the Americanised spelling for neighbour though. Let's try to remain a bit British. Tut tut.
Can't the anxious GPU buyer just have it delivered to his work ? I am sure it wont be that heavy to carry it home!
Nice idea, but there would need to be a lot more Collect+ points for it to be worth it. I don't know about anyone else, but the nearest one to myself is still too far away.
Regardless, I think I would still prefer the regular delivery methods anyway.
One slight problem with this Collect+ system and that is the cost to the customer at the end point of sale....
Why not save money and buy elsewhere that offers Free delivery or even shop local ....
The collect+ is irritating when you want to return a faulty item, I had to go miles out of my way to find a collect+ convenience store open to post it, while no cost it was inconvenient and fuel prices are not cheap. Their old returns a year ago was Freepost Royal mail a lot simpler! I also live no where near any convenience stores in general so this would be annoying for me.
If you live in places where there isn't anything local the idea isn't that good. For example for me its fantastic while I'm at uni. Five minutes walk away and saves me having to negotiate to get a house mate to stay in all day.
I'm always for options as long as it doesn't affect prices negitavely!
Could be a good idea. Need to try it and see how it works in practise.
Their search function is pretty rubbish, it doesn't even give a 'nearest' function, just presumably disregards all over an arbitrary distance. I guess they have nothing in pretty much the whole of Shropshire, given that Stoke brings up a few in Manchester and one in Birmingham. No Pickup Locations were found matching your search criteria.
Would be nice if I could actually find the "Search for a Pickup Location" as suggested via the Collect+ info supplied on Amazon. Oh well, still a nice feature to have. Will save a fair bit of time and money, and not having to sit in all day waiting for stuff to be delivered =)
I have send 3 parcels with collect + 2 where perfect and the last one (which is still ongoing after 3 months) has been a total nightmare. Its a good idea as long as the shop who receives it is competent and doesnt give the wrong person your parcel or lose it it the shop
