Samsung had it coming to them to be fair. They copied too many of Apple's designs. Even the box the Galaxy phones come in is extremely similar. Google even warned them about the Galaxy tab.

They should be more like HTC, Motorola and Sony. Their phones don't look anything like the iPhone.

Box?? A white box with a picture on the front - like loads of other items. You know my tablet is not made by Apple or Samsung and came in a white box with a picture of it on the front. My iPod Nano came in a box with a clear front displaying the front - loads of electronic products came in clear plastic boxes before.

What if Apple decides to use black boxes then?? No one can use black boxes,white boxes or those with clear fronts displaying the items??

I saw my mates and my mums Galaxy S2 box. The box and the layout is pretty much exactly the same style of the iPhones. Samsung didn't used to have their boxes like this until they started copying Apple. I've owned many Samsung phones before.
I've seen HTC boxes and they always appear distinctively different from the iPhones.

I wish Samsung didn't copy the iPhones box tbh. I remember when I got my Nokia N96 and it came in a box probably 10 times the size of the phone and was just filled was stuff like car charger, handsfree holder. Love that crap.

Probably because most PC gamers own Android phones.

They went for the one that had elements that were blatantly ripped from the iPhone.

If Apple took HTC to court over copying Apple wouldn't have stood a chance in that case.

This will just mean Samsung has to be a bit more original with their designs.

Apple might need to sue HP now - the TouchPad used a white box with a picture on it. OTH,HP has patents,plenty of them.

Really? But TBF PC gamers do tend to show more of an interest in tech, so pure marketing would mean less than actual functionality/value.

As for boxes; it's simply a case of making the boxes as compact as possible. Some may say it's a green thing but it's more likely a case of being able to fit more in a carton/shipping container = lower overheads. Remember when we used to get computer games in a box with a chunky manual. It's unusual to get more than a DVD case and a single piece of paper now...
