I saw these doing the rounds at the weekend, sparked a whole lot of speculation over "PureView" that really nice photo system that Nokia put on the 808, namely, will it be included.
Because its suspected to be an S4, lots of people are saying no, as they only support signal processing up to 20megapixels or there about.

Do you want to know what really is comical? All of this bickering has been going on, with various ridiculously technical explanations of why this can or can't be 'Pureview', yet all these muppets have missed the glaringly obvious:
The 808's system is specifically referred to as 'Pureview Pro'. Nokia refer to it in this way too. No mention was ever made of Pureview Pro on this Lumia, only Pureview. The 808's specification has little to do with the imaging system on this Lumia. One could presume that it will be seeing a version of Pureview designed specifically for normal, high-end smartphones.Originally Posted by Wikipedia
TBH, a WP version of the 808 would be mahoosive and eye-wateringly expensive anyway, so it's probably for the best. The 808 was big and expensive enough with it's (relatively) small battery and mid-range specs. Bring it up to WP8 spec, add on the license fee and I doubt we'd be looking at an attractive handset.
I doubt they are using the same sensor and/or lens as the 808 but I wouldn't rule it out, hard to tell how big the lens is from the pi. Looks like there is no xenon flash, hmm.
Could be a good 'un though.
I like - I like very much indeed, (apart from the tiny memory). Colours are a bit vivid - especially the yellow one - but I'm sure there's a lot of folks out there that would "dare to be different".
If they don't iPhone-price it, and WP8 isn't the bloated, slothful monster that some have suggested, then this could do very well indeed. Might even persuade me to give up my S3 next year - especially if there's a Pureview implementation, and they're available SIM-free.
Although if these are the genuine new Lumia's, then they're going to make that Samsung Ativ shown last week look like a barely designed piece of c**p.
They'll be available sim free, thats a given, no network would lock in with MS/Nokia right now.
Currently they haven't been iPhone priced at all, I mean the 610 is easily the best mobile phone under £100, and its only £70. Lumia 800 is £240 and the 900 is a total waste of time (Sorry but same guts as an 800 in a larger package, shows how bad the screen resolution is)....
as mentioned, if this is a 20megapixel pure view, it will be very interesting to see. Oh whats that T-Mobile? My contract is up for renewal in October?
Also it will match his skin tone.

what if you can't afford the extra RAM?
Plenty of apps still work, you can surf, email etc.
Just don't hope you'll ever be able to fast app switch!

And apparently no, no 'PureView' as we know it

But wireless charging

Thats kinda cool. But at the same time when I slam the phone down drunk it will never charge, the battery will run out, my alarm won't sound and I won't wake up in time to go to the theme park.. I'm torn.

Will be paying attention to this, I'm loving my HTC Trophy, W7 is awesome on phones.
I was tempted to get a 710, but got a great deal on the trophy 2nd hand which swung it.
808 is down to £435 on amazon...
getting tempted following this news.
I was okay with the current Nokia pricing - what I was getting at with the "iPhone pricing" crack was that I was hoping that Nokia wouldn't decide that it's a premium family of devices that means premium pricing. I'm hoping quite the opposite in fact - that they (Nokia) decide to price low to (re)gain market share - and if that returns a few Android/iPhone converts to the fold then so much the better.
P4U were advertising a "free" 800 on a £12.50 upgrade tarriff yesterday. Gotta say that I STILL fancy upgrading my current works dumbphone to a Lumia. If I see a good eBay deal on a Voda 800 then I'll be very tempted...
808 = Symbian. So £435 is still £200 overpriced - and besides my S3 cost not much more on Amazon.
Apparently its a buggy piece of junk, that feels really shoddy to use. But with a camera that beats a lot of point n clicks.
Maybe you'd find space in your life for this: http://www.pentaximaging.com/hybrid/Q_Black Its tiny, cheaper, has arguably much better image quality and interchangable lenses.
But if its about it been compact, and one device, then sadly I doubt you'll find the 808 that good to use as a smartphone.

The 920 does not have the 808 camera? Meh!
Lol, I like the colours! I am strangely transfixed on the yellow and red... I wonder how sensible the pricing is going to be? The Lumia 610 price looks very good for a standard user now for £79. IMHO, there is no such thing as a bad phone, only a bad price; not that the lumia 610 is a bad phone! I'm tempted to get one, but a with WP8 official release hours/days away now, I'll force myself to gnaw on my fist for a little longer.
