I so want this, I wish it was the entire Half Life game and not just upto Lambda, but it's a start. I never got to finish Half Life as I had a system failure that meant I had to reinstall about 90% of the way through the game! So looking forward to playing it again just to get the full story.

As always, props to Valve for not being dicks about this like many other companies would be.

I am in the minority standing on the other side. I genuinely found it boring and could not be bothered completing it the first time. And when I replayed again a few years alter, I *still* found it boring. Really, I did not understand what was all the hype around it. I put off playing HL2 for a long time because I thought it was going to be the same disappointment after all the hype (again). Yet was completely blown away when I finally give it a shot. Now where is Episode 3 darn it!

Not too fussed about Xen, to be honest. Never liked that part of the game. Been watching this since the start, though. Am stoked that it's FINALLY ready.

Preferred the first Half Life to HL2 - I hope this works, but I am failing to see the point.

Also never played. I have had HL1 installed for the last fortnight, though. I'll have to get HL1 + HL2 - plus all their expansions - 'played' before this mod comes out. Phew.

I've heard it likened to Far Cry in terms of how it shaped future FPS games. Are there any other epics (sorry if you don't think Far Cry was epic - I did/do) that I should know about?

Might as well wait for this to come out before beginning the Half-Life series.

Black Mesa is a piece of finely worked art. This is a bloody masterpiece and will be the best mod for the rest of our time. Yes. It may classed as an Indie game but even if it is then it's the best Indie game ever done.
