So it turns out the Paperwhite is not backlit. Not surprising because it's an e-ink screen so no way to use a conventional backlight. It looks good but shame it's not coming to the UK yet and there is no confirmed release date. Still no Epub compatibility too, so I may go with the Nook Glowlight when it gets released over here because I want to be able to borrow titles from my local Library.

Not in Uk? Seems the best stuff they have released isn't available to us. They can stuff it.
