Samsung and HTC lawyers aim to slay the baby iPhone 5
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Lol - however much I am looking forward to the iPhone 5 launch, this is pretty funny stuff
At least this is unlikely to stop the launch - even if it does have a chance of blocking future sales for a period if Apple do indeed lose. If you can't take it don't give it out...
Fingers crossed no injunction appears before the 21st!!
Hurray for Karma!
apple allready lost this when the judge ruled the patent valid.... no launch for iphone 5 then and ipad 3 off the shelves...
or apple stops the crap and stops suing everything that moves and works **** out like an adult company should...
What goes around comes around, and even worse for apple it is US patents they've infringed (FRAND ones though) as well as many many other countries.
They will only be able to ban the LTE version though, not the american 4G (wimax) and the regular 3G one, then again they're probably still infringing on sammie's 3G patents
Hmm, my memory's crap, but didn't Nokia and - more importantly - Motorola also have some pretty "interesting" patents in 3G tech that perhaps apply?
Here's hoping for a "perfect storm" of multiple, non-trivial cases against Apple - not that I've got anything against the iPhone5/iPad3 per se, just I'd like to see some payback for Apple's profligate and pernicious writ flinging. Long overdue!
How dare they sue Apple for making a phone. It's not as if FRAND was originally intended to promote competition by enabling friendly cross licensing to the ultimately improve consumer experience.....
I'm waiting for those fruitbats to declare that the i-phone is not actually a phone. It's an Integrated Private Heterogenous Optimal Networking Entity. oh, wait.. hang on....
Don't get me wrong, I think the i-phone is a great device. I just detest the way Apple want to make it the only device...

Just as an added thought - shouldn't Samsung/HTC really be sueing Qualcomm?
Qualcomm make the chip that provides 4G connectivity, and they DO have correctly licenced patents, most of which are probably SEPs anyway.
Will be interesting to see how this turns out - completely different to the Apple Vs Samsung case where Apple won, due to the involvement of Qualcomm..mmmm
Would also love to see a confirmation from another source (every news site I have read just refers back to the Korean newspaper one way or another) as to what exactly has been filed and which territories may be affected - but I guess we won't get that for a few days.
Is it wrong if I found it funny as soon as I saw the title?
It's probably a bit premature to celebrate for those looking for a Samsung win but I'll just grab some popcorn and enjoy the show
(Since I do not know about the patents involved, I'll just take a neutral position for now)
Fingers crossed it's a very, very big fine...
and EE have annonuced 4G in the UK - just not Iphones....
Well they wouldn't announce the iPhone 5's LTE feature today, 30 odd hours ahead of Apples event They did explicitly state "and one other manufacturer" (well, words to that effect) - we'll find out tomorrow if the iPhone5 really is compatible with 4G LTE on the 1800mhz band
I am eager to see how this one pans out!
PR nightmare if iPhone 5 isn't 4G-usable....utter corruption and abuse of the law if they get away with it.
I just fear it may cause them to spend a number of those billions they keep stashed away buying up companies :S
