So the desktop computer can now be bombarded with thousands of rubbish apps of poor quality. No doubt a portal for fraud apps too.

Re: News - Microsoft expects 100k Windows 8 apps in store within 90 days

Agree with the quality not quantity comments, but there does need to be a large base to cover everyone's different needs. We are already bombarded with millions of crap programs via the web, so it's not like it's any different it's just packaged up somewhere you don't have to go and look.

With the amount of cash they're surfing Win8 on, it's going to get a pretty strong start. I'm not talking the tech world folk, who are completely polarized and probably don't need to change, I mean the people buying tabs, laptops and new machines, the PC worlders if you like.

Totally agree. The large majority of apps on most app-stores are just worthless. In fact, less than worthless - they make it harder to find the good ones.

In reality, I doubt Apple and Google have more than a 1000 worthwhile apps between them on their respective stores.

I tried it a while back and hated it. However, I've used it again recently (I am tasked with testing my company's software on it) and it is a lot better now. Not enough to warrant abandoning Windows 7, but it's decent.
