Nobody forces you to use it...
Tell me where else you think you could reach such a wide audience and sell your stuff so easily and why that isn't worth paying ~10% fees like any other old fashioned auction house?

It's only 10% until you notice that you are forced into paying a further 3-4% of Paypal fees on top of that. Then patently unfair policies come into play such as not being allowed to offer e.g. £10 off for those paying cash on collection instead of paying through Paypal. And their stance on seller protection being, well, middle-finger-up. (E.g. you sell expensive items across the world, some low-life from Russia or Nigeria buys your stuff, you post it by recorded delivery which takes 10 days to arrive, buyer files non-delivery claim after 3 days and gets full refund from your account despite you having proof that it was posted and that it takes longer than that to arrive. This actually happens, and you're left up **** creek without a paddle.)
And no, I don't use it, not for selling any more, because the service they offer is not worth the fees they charge. I still use it for buying stuff but it is no longer a viable means for private auctions or sales - they've broken it.

Exactly, there are none other. If there were, eBay would have been bitch-slapped into ot's rightful place.

Seems like more and more businesses are choosing simple icons over more graphically complex ones, I definitely prefer the newer logo but it doesn't change my opinion of them! It's not that I dislike them or anything, I just prefer to sell privately rather than through them to avoid the cost of putting them for auction.

I never post outside the UK, and even I got stung for a partial refund despite having recorded delivery proof the claim was filed the day before the buyer got it

No they want to be acquired by Apple.
Maybe they are about to launch a Windows 8 app
Re: News - eBay logo gets a refresh; the time felt right after 17 years
Nobody even mentioned the fact ebay removed the seller's ability to leave negative feedback (for the buyer). Some people scam ebay silly - and the scams remain hidden sometimes!
Bring that back, and I'll like the font!
Re: News - eBay logo gets a refresh; the time felt right after 17 years
seems to me it is just a cost cutting exercise as the 'all over look' would obviously require a little more effort in admin/print/graphic areas. just seems like a boring silly change
Re: News - eBay logo gets a refresh; the time felt right after 17 years
ebay is great for businesses selling to consumers, but it is terrible for the individual casual seller as it is so expensive!
As others have said, I've had stuff up on ebid for 5 months, while free have not sold a single item!! I've even tried Gumtree and Facebook but no go... I bet it would sell instantly on ebay... but I would make £0 on my items and therefore it is better in the trash vs the hassle of sending it!
Nice logo but it won't change anything...
Re: News - eBay logo gets a refresh; the time felt right after 17 years
I think the new Logo is way better as the old one, since its simpel.
The old one was kidna sluggy inb my opinion.
