I won't go with Apple as I'm not sold on phones by powerful marketing alone and I don't want in on the Apple cult, thank you very much.

As for that Nokia phone, no physical keyboard plus all my apps are on Android.

I won't change from my beloved Sony Xperia Pro (qwerty slider phone) until there's an actual phone available for networks in the UK which improves upon it in some significant way.

I'm going to get a WP8 device as my next smart phone, so a Nokia Lumia 920 for me.

Lumia 920 for me. Bored with Android now and wouldn't touch an Iphone with a barge pole.

Interesting comment.... I tend to agree. Getting a bit bored with my HTC Android however will watch with interest what MS deliver with Win8 & the Win phone...
But anything but Apple!

Could you explain (briefly) why "it leaves both phones in the dust"?

There isnt that much the S3 has over the Lumia, the processor really doesnt matter so much with windows as it runs extremely smooth even on a single core, the extra core is just for internet browsing and gaming, and other intensive apps

Really not a fan of the 920. Might change my mind when it comes out. The iPhone on the other hand just doesn't interest me anymore.

Having had a Samsung galaxy S2 for slightly over a year has made me realise I WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER ANDROID PHONE EVER AGAIN! The phone may be pretty high spec'ed for its time but if the hardware does not have decent software well there's no point. For example the phone randomly turns itself of before and after the ICS update and now since updating the phone to ICS the predictive text does not work and it turns it self off even more! Before this I have had windows phones ever since the orange SPV (that was a brick but it always worked!) through to HTC HD2. I also have a iPhone that is provided by the company i work for this is ok and i prefer to use it over the Samsung but its a bit meh!

So after that essay my next phone will be a Windows phone although I have 11 months left till my contract ends so may be the next Nokia or something better??

install a different keyboard perhaps? Each to their own I guess but that's a very easy thing to fix...I know it *should* work but you can re-install the samsung keyboard for example and off you go

Your phone is faulty. It has nothing to do with Android.

If the S2 had such a big problem, it'd be all over the web.

Note II would be my preference, although getting excited about the Motorola Intel edge-to-edge event on September 18th in London, to see what that brings.

I have to say that I am leaning towards the Nokia. Currently have a HTC Sensation and wanting a bit of a change. Hardware wise, I like it all except maybe the thickness and weight. Might not be an issue but just need to try it out I guess.

From what I have seen from the OS it looks slick to use, but not sure how extensive the application market will be. If anything, just fancy a change.

Hope the contracts aren't too expensive.

A lot of apps do not support certain hardware and resolutions very well, although this is more noticeable on an android tablet like mine which is currently one of 2 devices with a 1920x1200 resolution, although with the huge popularity of Ouya, I may be getting more HD games

I'm still loving my galaxy S2 for £15 a month all in. I'm intrigued by the 920, and wouldn't touch the Apple even with yours. Too many shocking Apple products through work, none of which works properly and all of which were disgustingly overpriced for what is essentially moderate spec hardware.
When my contract runs out, I'll be looking towards the S3/S4 - I've had extremely good experiences with Samsung generally, and after Apple's lawsuit, I will be aiming to stick with Samsung wherever possible.

920 for me all the way. the iPhone 5 looks like too incremental an update to chose it over the 4S let alone the newer handsets.
