I'd rather give google a second chance. Hate bing search results and features in comparison :S
I think a lot of pioneering online services are starting to find that it's tricky walking the path between helpfulness and privacy.

Have you actually tried it? I mean features wise its picture + video searches are better than googles handsdown. Hell google dare I say have been inspired the last few years by bing's image search.
For general web stuff thou I don't find bing good enough.

Re: News - Google breached your privacy, so use Bing, says Microsoft
I use bing consistently now and haven't found any issues with it's search results. I think searches have to be phrased differently to google searches to get comparable results though and I think this is the main reason people don't convert from google to bing because it would take effort, so why bother when you already know how to use something.

I fail to see how reading the User Agent string is "improper tracking"? If this was the case MS better ditch IIS logs altogether and use generic, non-informative user agent strings in their own browser. While I'm talking about it an idea came to mind - why not make a new industry standard tag within the user agent string that would enable users to opt out of any and all advertising, same as when we're able to put a no-spam sticker on our mailboxes? Cheers!

Re: News - Google breached your privacy, so use Bing, says Microsoft
I find that bing provides more relevant links on the first page when i know what i'm looking for. When doing a speculative search I find google more helpful.
Default search engine = Bing, but I do use google for maps, shopping, and more obscure searches.

Google seems to get better results for me on the first try. I try using Bing and don't get what I want and then go to Google and type the same thing and it comes up on the first page.

Why does it have to be one or the other?
http://www.bing-vs-google.com/
And yes, different search engines do vary and using just one limits your ability to find what you need.

Re: News - Google breached your privacy, so use Bing, says Microsoft
I use both, but I tend to use bing more often than not because I like the pretty pictures on the start page.

Bing vs Google vs Yahoo.
Not that anyone uses Yahoo anymore but well. Its a simple decision which one does the user like best?
Microsoft can attempt to get users to use Bing Search however eventually its down to the user and their preference.

Re: News - Google breached your privacy, so use Bing, says Microsoft
I get 404 pages and improper search results whenever I use bing. It never finds things correctly as has already said.
The font is awful too. http://www.bing.com is bloated and tries to be too trendy. It reminds me of McDonalds' interior colour scheme.
+1 Google (even though they removed "google wars" and they are removing iGoogle soon)

Here's one reason why you should choose Bing.
- Go to www.bing.co.uk
- Cycle back through a few images until you see an autumn scene (arrows at bottom right)
- Watch the video :)

No.
Google is so embedded now even if Bing were 100% as good people still wouldn't use it. Fact is, it is better at certain searches but then who says "i'll do a internet search" - everybody says "i'm gonna google it".

True, but I say "I'm going to do the Hoovering" .... and then I use Sebo to do it. ;)
I haven't used a Hoover to hoover in about 30 years.
