Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
GiffGaff improving reliability with only £9M? Given the fact I only know one person still with them, and they constantly have no data, or can't recieve calls I don't think it will be enough.
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
Been with GiffGaff for a couple of years and never had a problem that I've noticed.
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
^ I've been with them for almost two years now. Never had any problems apart from when their systems got flooded a few months back. And of course that O2 blip - but I didn't notice until someone told me.
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
I was with GG for about 6 months until I got fed up of having on GPRS in my area. That's partly due to my location (a little village in Wales) if o2 could give me 3G/H in my area id still be with them but for now im sticking with Three as I get 'H' pretty much everywhere I go.
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
After 2 years with gg I wouldn't think of moving & have recommended it to other happy customers (well got them Sims sent out & made £5 in credit each time)
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
The reason I'm transferring from O2 to GG is because th3 0

*for the same amount per month, with GG I will be getting 1gb per month. 500mb is simply not enough for me.
P.S iPad messed up the first comment.
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
I've been with Giffgaff for almost a year now, and as fed up as I get over their reliability (signal randomly dropping, no data connection - despite gf on O2 never having such problems) no one can match their data allowance! :(
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
I've trialed giffgaff but it's not the network for me. It's cheap for a reason it's unreliable.
In my second month with them a goodybag i'd purchased took 3 days to activate. You couldn't even top up at the time either so once my £5 of free credit was burnt up (took all of 5 mins outside of goodybag) i couldn't use the phone for anything and there was not even an acknowledgement that there was a fault for days. (it happened on a friday evening wasn't fixed until monday afternoon)
To make things worse, the last couple of days giffgaff customers have been unable to receive text messages from vodafone users. This was fixed this morning but the other day two different vodafone numbers were unable to text two different giffgaff numbers.
What makes me really laugh is there current objectives are to expand there userbase, which seems a bit futile since they cant keep hold of the ones they already have

What you mean 1GB?
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
VM\'s SIM only deals are pretty close, £12 for 1200 mins, unlimited texts, 1Gb internets. But, you have to piggyback on T-Mobile

They used to be unlimted data for £10, now it's £12 (no tethering), it's not truly unlimited. They don't like it if you do more than 1GB an hour (quite hard to do with there performance) or 3GB / day
Re: News - Giffgaff invests £9m to improve capacity and reliability
I've been with them over a year or so now, I've no intention of leaving and I promote them when I can, the way I see them is I have the benefits of a contract with the freedom of prepay, plus the unlimited data was the sinker for me, my only gripe I suppose is maestro can't be used for rolling goodybags, but that more an issue with maestro than giffgaff, fewer and fewer places are accepting maestro for goodness sake even Google doesn't take them, lol I'm stuck with using free android apps....
