Welcome to hexus. Great quote, but sadly not correct today, well ever since the 90s really.

Massive parallelism hasn't become mainstream on the desktop though (well, discounting graphics cards).

Ten years ago I'd have predicted modern CPUs to become more like modern graphics cards with hundreds of cores.
