All depends on how many they had to start with, selling out 1000 wouldn't of been difficult, but 10,000 100,000 that would be more impresive
Thinking of selling my One X and getting a Nexus, better hardware and no waiting around for tjhe manufacturers to get there arse in gear and release updates, still no 4.1 update for my One X.
Getting tired of manufacturers not being bothered at all with updates, its out on the OneX+ so why cant I get it yet?
Apple and Microsoft dont have such issues?
No, Vanilla Google for me now.
And before I get the inevitable "S0MG JUST ROOT IT YOU NOOB" posts, I shouldn't have to really.
I have said pretty much the same thingon the N7 discussion thread.
The acceptance of vanilla android should be a hint to HTC and Samsung about what people like, or the very least what they accept. I would have thought making a vanilla google handset would be quite a bit easier for them aswell so i dont understand why they keep plugging custom skins.
Agreed. Trouble for HTC and Samsung et al is they don't want to get caught competing on just specs/price - from their point of view it is a race to the bottom.
Why don't they all just make Vanilla android products, with updates coming from Google directly, then make their skins available on Google Play to download? That way you're not waiting for the skin in order to get the base update. Plus they could probably charge for them...
I've pretty much given up hope of getting a Nexus 4. It was a complete joke trying to order one this week and I dont have time to keep checking back for stock - which will undoubtedly be sold out quickly and appear on eBay. My jon sadly doesnt allow sitting in front of screen refreshing on the off chance Google might actually stock the phone for 5 miutes.
Why they dont limit devices to 2 per person and allow pre-orders I dont know, but I'm now looking at S3's again which is a shame because I was willing to give the Nexus brand a chance.
I was aiming to order a Nexus 4 to replace my aging Desire HD2, have Google said anything about future availability?
I'm also surprised at how poorly Google is handling this, pre-orders would be nice and save a lot of bother. I'm looking to replace my Note 1 as the Samsung official software is both old and buggy (2.3 was their last usable version), still I'm in no rush.
Google have apparently said they'll get more units in the coming weeks (which I interpret to be more than a week and less than a month), just hope they've sorted everything out by christmas
I said it about Apple; selling out makes for fairly good marketing.
How many people wanting to get one, especially coming up to Christmas, will now be anxiously checking the page a few times a day? If they were overstocked, it loses some of the hype/excitement.
