It always makes me LOL a bit saying how it is reported the recession has hit people and they are spending less and food and energy costs are crippling them, etc. Yet when a new Apple,Samsung, etc high-end phone or tablet comes out people are spending hundreds of quid every year or two on them. It just makes me think people have just changed their spending habits.

    You know the drill...
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Or its a lot of people still living at home with mum and dad and paying £40 a week like my kids, who then have a big disposable income to go out and buy things like this leaving me and my wife to struggle with the food and heating bills. This is why I have a Wildfire

£40 a week? You need to double that, at least. Tell them you're teaching them about the value of money. And that you value theirs.

Hmmm, well you sir are the fool who lets them get away with it ;-)

How about they pay the same % of their income as you do - that's the arrangement I prefer with the Mrs...

As it is I was one of those children, but I too have a wildfire, as it is I have always kept contracts under £12 a month. Maybe that is one of the reasons I was one of those children but haven't been for a good while.

Re: News - Apple up to speed with iPhone 5 supply in time for Xmas

A cynical person (who believed the rumours of an imminent 5S) might suggest that Apple would really like to clear their stocks of the "old" model.

That said, I've totally failed to find a '5 at anything like a decent package (looking for max £26/month with more than a couple of KB of data allowance), so now looking at a 4S for 'er indoors. She keeps slagging me off about my "slab" of an S3, so she'll not need the larger screen. Unless someone out there is going to (a) point me at a decent deal, and (b) point out why a 5 is worth the (huge?) premium.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

How bad would that be - to get the same Christmas present this year as you did for the last two years....
