I wonder if I would be able to run it smoothly with a clocked HD 6970 2GB, anyone?
We can't know for sure until it's out, but I'd expect a 6970 would run it fairly well if you're careful with the settings i.e. don't just max everything.
hmm, should run on my onboard without too much trouble
suffice to say, i will be giving it a go (if theres a demo out)
*run at about 5 fps i reckon, in very low detail.
Would be good if they define what res these he specs are for, or is it that they assume everyone games at full he or higher these days ...
Yeah that Devil 13 could probably run Crysis 3!
My i5 2320 and hd 6990 should be right... but i would have thought that EA would have made it so that only the best of the best vid cars could run it, I'm a bit disappointed really. This means I have no excuse to upgrade.
It could well be very high end - maxed out. Crysis 2 with the texture mods etc will push my system (and looks pretty fantastic) so i'm hoping that they'll make good use of DX11 and ship high res textures from the get go. I'll be able to test it myself (by disabling SLI) but I'd be surprised if a single card can keep 60fps constant at 1920x1200. They did, belatedly up Crysis' 2 game somewhat and we know CryEngine 3 can scale pretty well (a lot better than previous versions) - they've also said they intend to push the envelope for PC owners. Fingers crossed.
OTOH given we've slated them for when they did push things hard and also slated them for when they didn't..
Look at the requirements here: http://maldotex.blogspot.co.uk/
"Will anyone be upgrading their PC to play Crysis 3?"
Already meet the recommended specs.
5820k / 16GB DDR4 2400 / MSI X99 SLI Plus / Asus Strix Vega64 / AOC 32"
You sure that the 5870 will be man enough to run a multi-monitor setup with the "oh my god" setting? I'm not.
My kit's okay I think - although the fact that my graphics card just meets the first quoted minimum spec means that I'll have to pass on Crysis 3 until I can slap a "better" graphics card in there. AFAIK if EA are saying that NVidia 500 series is their minimum then my poor ole GT460 isn't going to cut it - unless I want sub-console graphics.
And alienate the majority of their fanbase? Great idea!
You won't get sub-console quality graphics with a 460 unless the engine is catastrophically unoptimised for PC, and I'm talking PhysX on CPU style unoptimised. Just be sensible with settings and check out some optimisation guides when they're released, like this one for Crysis 2: http://www.geforce.com/optimize/guid...2-benchmarks#1 or Crysis: http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_6.html
Regardless of specs, seeing the screenshots makes me happy. hated the urban C2 setting.

Looks like I will need to upgrade as my GPU is an 8800GT DX10 only
So a quick check shows that the GTX 650Ti would be a reasonable upgrade but - what about my CPU which is an E6750
Will that be a serious bottleneck playing at 1680 x 1050 as changing to a much better CPU will probably mean a new motherboard and memory (not an acceptable solution)
I played the Crysis3 MP Alpha. It was pushing my Core i3 2100 to 100% utilisation. Even Crysis2 SP pushed my Q6600 which was overclocked to around 3GHZ to 100% over 4 cores. I run my games at 1680X1050 and my overclocked HD5850 1GB(around HD5870 1GB level) was also being pushed somewhat in Crysis3,although the CPU appears to have bottlenecked it a bit.
I would probably look at getting a Core2 Quad for your system.
I would also be looking at something like an HD7850,GTX660 or HD7870 at least for running this game at 1680X1050.
