Looks like my new PC satisfies the high-performance specs, shame I'm unlikely to ever try it.

If they're speccing a DX11 graphics card then it ain't no current gen console port

Perhaps there'll actually be a proper PC version ready for release, with the console version a massively hacked down version (rather than the bad console port + half-assed DX11 add-on pack that it seemed to get last time...)

It's not high end at all. The minimum and recommended specs are very modest for an enthusiast - even my wife's more casual gaming rig meets recommended spec no problem.

If they didn't provide an extra mode for the super-dupers of today then they would be accused of dumbing it down for consoles. At least the super-duper mode fits fine for todays top end rigs, it won't be asking for a generation or two in the future.

Re: News - Yeah, but can it run Crysis 3?

Mine is just below the high spec benchmark with an HD 7850 OC and an FX-4100. So no upgrades needed here. I'm a little excited about this game but I won't be buying when it comes out, I will be waiting for a great deal to come around on it.

I've noticed that we're needing newer and newer top end hardware every year to enjoy games at high settings. It's not like games are advancing any faster. If anything, they've slowed down since a lot of devs are focusing on consoles more. As was said before - I think it's probably the fact that a lot of our pc games are lazy console ports with bad optimization which makes them require a shed load of power. I've nearly always found pc game recommended requirements to be a load of rubbish. Unless you wanna play 1024x768 at 30fps or something. The standard now is surely 1920x1080 at, or close to 60fps. They need to be more honest with requirements.

Sorry I was referring to the recommended and not the min.

Are you sure they won't just release it in Dx9 again, and then update to DX11 at a later date?

So was I. Recommended spec is a quad core CPU and something like a 560 (non-ti). That's nothing close to high end.

I ran the Crysis 3 MP Alpha when it was active. I actually found that my Core i3 2100 was pushed to around 100% usage and my HD5850 1GB was not.

    A 7850 is "just below" a 7970???

Yes it is. A 7850 is a mid range VGA and the 7970 is a high end VGA.

Yeh I had a go on the Alpha also. It just crashed all the time. And the brief moments when I got it to play, I was at just about 30fps on medium settings with my GTX670 running at 680 clocks and 2500K @4.5Ghz lol.... I do expect an Alpha to be buggy though in fairness.
