Would it have a 2.5" screen or are they just expecting them to rebrand the iphone 4S? Seeing as that has a smaller screen than the S3 mini.
Re: News - Experts believe an iPhone mini is in the pipeline
But iPhone is teeny tiny for little people hands already!
Re: News - Experts believe an iPhone mini is in the pipeline
I can't see it happening, Apple has already started to feel the wrath of fragmentation with the iPhone 5's bigger screen and the iPad Mini's smaller screen. A mini iPhone would be yet another screen size to deal with.
Re: News - Experts believe an iPhone mini is in the pipeline
I think it's the right size already tbh. Are we going to see it followed by iPad Massive® and iPhone Micro®

What wrath would that be? Apple's competitors already have phones out in a variety of sizes from phablet to mini, apple need to offer something in the same markets to compete.

I think he is referring to the software eco system.

Screen size isn't the problem resolution is. SO choose a screen size and keep to a resolution that is already is use would surely solve that problem, no?

Resolution shouldn't be a problem either - bitmaps are so 1980s. UI should be responsive these days so fine with a variety of resolutions and aspect ratios.

Except it doesn't work that way in Appleland...

Why not? If you're writing an app there's nothing forbidding you from making it responsive is there? I thought most already were to handle vertical-horizontal transitions anyway.
Re: News - Experts believe an iPhone mini is in the pipeline
do you know I can't tell you why, but it is a problem. Some apps don't play ball, and a load of apps had to be rewritten and updated last time the res changed. I *think* it may be something to do with apps and html5 stuff not playing ball, but I could be wrong...
Perhaps somebody more qualified could explain it? I can just remember apps with black borders and having problems...

Well I guess just because you *can* do something doesn't mean you *will* :) Poor code exists regardless of the capability to create better code :p
