Probably a new graphics card at some point. Hopefully, some better cards with 2GB of VRAM will be available for under £150.

Intel i7 4770K with a Z87 board, upgrade my 680 with a 780 using the EVGA upgrade program and a 1440p monitor. If I have anything left I might have to pick up a 240GB SSD as well

A bit of everything really, except a graphics card.
    Haswell will be the excuse

Re: Features - QOTW: New year, new upgrades. What's on your shortlist?

First thing on the list is a new PC case, as bits are falling off of my uber low budget current case mostly off the front panel. Turning it on with my foot probably didn't help but oh well.

Re: Features - QOTW: New year, new upgrades. What's on your shortlist?

    alreaddy have upgraded.

bought a dynamode-usb-4pci-30-4-port-usb-30-pci-express-pcie-card and a 1tb hitachi touro. for backup/watching movies via usb on telly type thing.

moved my graphics card to the bottom pci-e slot, its only a x8 speed slot but it doesnt affect the speed any i checked, for some reason i had a lot of benchmark figures in various games to compare it too and voila, now have 6 sata ports again. plugged the e-sata from case onto one, other went onto harddrive that was my external before.

cant upgrade computer anymore whatsoever now. no more plugs on PSU, not worth getting an SSD for it. so thats me done for then next 3-4 years.

unless i win anymore bits ofcourse, then ill be happy to upgrade

If they release a better FP/SP ratio consumer Kepler I'm in. Nothing else would be good value to upgrade atm.

I'm completely replacing my desktop with a Clevo P150EM laptop. 4.1GHz ivybridge quad core, 16GB of RAM, GTX 680M for graphics and a 240GB SSD, I think all of that should easily beat my old 3.7GHz C2D with 4GB of RAM and a GTX 260

Looking at new harddrives. Exsisting ones are getting old and I could do with more space

A new DDR3 mobo as well.

    Maybe a 3rd monitor.

Re: Features - QOTW: New year, new upgrades. What's on your shortlist?

I am hopefully going to buy myself an aftermarket cooler for my hd 6990.
I might also look into haswell to upgrade the rubbish that is bottlenecking my GFX card. An i5 2320...

Maybe upgrade my 670 EX OC at some point, (a friend has his eye on it), and a new SSD for The Rig. Going to stick the currect Crucial C300 in my Netbook (yes, people still have them).
