I had one one these on pre-order the first day I laid eyes on it via a google+ stream.

Tech looks amazing, I just hope we see development for its support in apps.

Holy crap, that looks amazing. I want it just from watching the video.

And totally solves the issue of fingerprints on monitors that touchscreen monitors have - you just need the Windows 8 Metro UI to put a virtual finger on the screen so you can poke it in the right place.

Leap Motion's technology can track movements to 1/100th millimetre
Still think that claim is unlikely - 1/100th millimetre is thinner than the width of a human hair...

    Very impressive.
I like what I saw with the first person shooter game too, could open new doors with its ability to recognise gestures and very high accuracy. problem with touch screens is that you have to bend your hands and fingers in strange ways for serious gaming making it only useful for simple applications.

Something like this would definitely be preferable to a touchscreen for a desktop setup. Would be good if they could integrate it into the palm rest of a keyboard or something.

It looks amazing, I'd love to see if it's actually practical, will wait for reviews and decide.

Hmmm - comes up as $69.99 + shipping, but when I put in UK as my billing address country, the price bumps up to $83.99 + international shipping at $12.99 i.e. $96.98.

Guessing it's a tax issue as it seems EU countries are charged varying amounts, pretty much everyone else on the planet I clicked (including Afghanistan and North Korea....) get charged $69.99.

Actually, being a bit dim there - $69.99 + 20% = $83.988 so yes, we're just getting charged VAT. Ho hum - at least it doesn't charge VAT on delivery

Still pre-ordered though. I really can't see the point in touchscreen on a desktop, but this looks promising especially if they manage to get widespread software support

They don't give information on what distance from the controller's sensor that quoted resolution is measured, so I'm assuming that's on the minimum distance possible. With increase in distance from the controller, that would then translate to a lot wider split points where it would detect motion. Perhaps a better, more informative way to describe its resolution would be if they measured that in degrees and not in distance. Or simply quote how many detection points it's capable of measuring and we can do maths on our own.

that looks fantastic and i can think of soooo many different scenarios where it could prove useful or cool. Im not one to make the kind of leap in faith thats required to pre-order, but if it proves effective and stable, i will be straight on it.

Pre-ordered as well, hate finger prints on my monitor, so would never get a touch screen, but this might solve that problem and it's a bargain if it works anywhere near as the demo.
