2 network cards?

So more than 3x the price of a Raspberry Pi then....

Was waiting for these type of devices to go mainstream and for competition to appear. Though name APC is no go - APC (VIA Android PC), UPS (Parcel Service), UPC (Internet Provider). Bit confusing at first.
Anyway, just have to wait now for the market to respond.

Indeed - the big appeal for many of us with an RPi is the price, so can't really call this a competitor imo. It does, however, look like a funky bit of kit!

It might be possible using a mini PCIe LAN card - provided the expansion slot on the board is mini PCIe rather than mini SATA. *

Or use USB NICs :puke:

Am I the only one who thinks that the Rasberry Pi hasn't actually done much for its actual goal?

It is a great ultra low cost ARM solution, but their goal was about promoting tinkering and learning. I think those are not hardware or software problems, but teacher and school problems.

Whilst I was cut my teeth in BBC BASIC, I think that might be due to the fact I've an above average intellect, rather than it been accessible. I remeber fondly things like Click and Create by these guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clickteam

It allowed you to make simple games, but included all the building blocks, even some sounds and graphics.

I got one to play with but the sad truth is that the box stares at me, waiting to be opened.
It was hampered by delays, by the time I eventually got it I'd forgotten I had even ordered it. I haven't had the time to even plug it in to see if it works.

A lot were shipped to schools and colleges so perhaps it will be part of the IT/Computing syllabus at some point. It is surprising nothing has hit the headlines.


The cardboard does look very flimsey on this Paper model

So....This is a more expensive raspberry Pi with very little features. Seems legit.
