A fiver a month to download to your tablet. Hahaha, next you'll be saying you have to pay a tenner a month just to watch shows in HD on Sky next!

And i`m guessing its still not fully compatible with all android devices :@
I know it works on nexus 7 but sky still havent supported the nexus 10. Reading a bit further a lot of people think this may be because of the hdmi port and the fact that sky wont be able to stop people displaying it on their tvs
Re: News - Sky Go Extra: download Sky content to your mobile or tablet
They need to improve the service (a lot) before I would even think about paying extra

That seems unlikely, given you can output from a Nexus 7 to TV. Hell, I've watched TV on my projector via TV Catchup on my Note 2 :p

Good point.
I guess its just annoying that Both Sky and Virgin seem to be dragging their feet so much over support for android tablets with their Products.
The sky staff on the forums talk about how hard it is to get their program to work on all the differing devices Which seems a bit of a cop out considering their are loads of apps out their that have little problem and have been made by teams with far less resources than the sky group...

If it's TV content, be it films, series, comedy, whatever, I wanna watch it on a nice, big TV, not a tablet and sure as hell not a piddly little phone. I'd rather miss it altogether than do that. So No to Go and Go Extra, never mind the £5 charge. If they pay me, I still don't want it.

I dont understand this. Sky Go works on laptops, and they can output to a TV. In fact one of my registered Sky Go devices is this PC, which I basically use as free multiroom.

the misus watches sky go on the xbox upstairs , but she gets frustrated when it doesn't show programmes that she can watch on the sky box :(
Re: News - Sky Go Extra: download Sky content to your mobile or tablet
My HTPC can stream my 4 TV tuners (2xDVB-T2 and 2xDVB-S2) to my android phone just fine (even over the internet), I will admit I have tried to make it work with recorded TV but no doubt I could if I tried (just checked and it is possible).
With that I can also share it on my netbook (remember those) or even my work PC.
Freeview+Freesat = more than enough to watch and the clue is the in the name it costs me nothing.
As for sky movies, I have a cinema pass for unlimited films for £14.99 a month and any films I like or miss I later pickup on blu-ray for a maximum of £3.50 form cex.
So far my plans to never give sky a penny are working.
Just got to hope RTL keep renewing there license for F1 coverage, half BBC and half RTL with BBC radio works just fine for me, was easier when it was all on the BBC before sky tried to steal it form me and then charge me for it.
