Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
Just installed it and looks good. Thankfully it found the games that are on Steam, and apparently all my settings are too low lol, so will try them with the optimized settings and see how I get on.
Additionally will be better when they add more games.
Thanks for the news Hexus
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
Hmm, the thought of having some magic app that can tweak and tune a game to give best possible settings is something that I really like the sound of. Yes, I know games themselves do this (to an extent) but my experience with those has been pretty poor.
For example, on Just Cause 2 - the "optimized" settings were so laggy that it was unplayable. All that was needed was to move physics to the graphics card.
So thumbs up for this utility from me, especially if they continue to extend it's coverage and also don't end up limiting it to the latest and greatest from the green team - some of us are still slumming it with 400 series cards (or older).
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
After playing with it, well to be honest there isn't an awful lot to play with I have noticed it really does seem to choose the optimum settings, like on one game it turned off one feature entirely, so it's not just an app that turns everything up to max to make it look better.
Definitely needs a lot more games to be supported but it's definitely a good start and hopefully it will be continuously updated.
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, it works well for most games but there are a few issues like it not detecting my Far Cry 3 properly. Beta is beta I guess.
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
Sounds pretty interesting. I often sacrifice pretty settings to get higher FPS as it makes the experience more comfortable for me so im curious as to how this could effect my experience.
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
Hmm, well after trying on World of Warcraft I am not too sure, before I was getting 60 fps solid and that's only because I have vsync turned on, after the 'optimal' settings were loaded I was getting 41-48 fps. Ok it looked prettier but that was standing outside, god forbid what would happen in a busy dungeon or raid.
For reference I have an i5 2500k at 3.3Ghz, 16GB ram, 1GB Geforce 560-Ti.

No thanks Nvidia, I'm perfectly capable of optimizing my own IQ settings in game. God knows why anyone with half a brain would use this useless gimmick.
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
So your saying that anyone that uses it only has half a brain then?
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
while (I turn everything = max )
{
If ( game = laggy )
{
turn down graphics;
}
}

If it works well i would argue that anyone with half a brain would be stupid not to use this tool, as it saves you from having to experiment with settings all the time to get things optomised ;)

I have a 560Ti, with latest Nvidia driver and it tells me "The graphics driver is not supported". Good start!
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
Funny, I have a 560 Ti and it worked fine here.
Re: News - NVIDIA GeForce Experience Beta now improved and open to all
I imagine this'll be fairly useful once bugs are ironed out.
Hopefully expanded to, for example choose between 60fps target sacrificing certain eye candy or 30fps

I did have to set a couple of directories manually, maybe try that?
