Huzzah! Full fat windows without killing the battery life or breaking the bank. If a wanted a windows tablet, I'd take this one over either surface.

I was expecting a higher price from the full fat version, so never considered it a viable option. Now i'll have to wait on performance reviews, as it is a very interesting proposition

Yep, but I'd rather slow than quick but dead in a few hours. Anything that can't last a 'working day' is almost useless for me. It's a bit like my view of new phones, I'd put up with a sizeable (proportionally speaking) increase in the weight of a handset if it would just give me a decent battery life.

Yeah the problem for me is I doubt this has the CPU power to let me do any work!

Hopefully some of the new intels this year will see to that, but in the mean time my ARM Surface has just become my office fondle.

Yeah but it's a fair bit faster than Tegra in the Surface RT.

Decent spec for a decent price, not high-end but it's only £400!

Only issue I have with this is the Micro-USB port, no full size port for quickly plugging in a flash drive.

Anyone know if this comes with an adapter or where you can get one seperately?

Don't know if it comes with an adaptor (and if Asus are thinking straight then it will, or at least be an easily/cheaply available accessory). In the meantime there's stuff such as http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004ULZD7U

    Re: News - The ASUS VivoTab ME400, a £399 Windows 8 tablet

Is the res due to the limitations of the graphics hardware, or are manufacturers doing this just to annoy me?

I would be interested to see a side by side.

Because honestly the RT isn't slow. The only thing I've found that makes it flinch is using Word Art in powerpoint, it's not keen on that.

There where a bunch of videos on YouTube showing how slow it was in office preview, a lot of thats been fixed, also the slowness can be caused by updates in the background, which thanks to the amazing oversite, you've no idea are happening unless you open task man.

It's not got a digitiser, only a touchscreen - so a pen, rather than an stylus would surely be a waste of money.

My view is that if you're an artist (or similar) then maybe the more expensive, more powerful Surface Pro would be one to choose. Of course, if you aren't an artist then what's wrong with a stylus (I got one for a couple of pence the other day).

Thanks for that crossy, I had a very quick look online but couldn't find anything.
Hopefully they will have the sense to bundle one with the tablet, at least we only have 1 week before we find out for sure!
